Good rating for the Chelsea match.
Pretty mediocre ratings for last night, with just 3.9m topping the 9pm slot. Minder's lost so much of its audience over the run, I can't see it coming back.

It's not that that confuses me, it's the drop in viewers this year.
Noticed that the apprentice was mentioned on bbc breakfast this morning, hopefully this will help the pretty poor promotion and publicity for tonight's special.

It was actually a gritty, realistic and convincing drama in its first series, but it's gone downhill since then, maybe that explains the decline in viewers? Though I still find it enjoyable as it's just escapism.

I agree about cutting repeats, although I think rather than making lots of cheaper shows, they should divert more money towards BBC One.
Look at the weekend of 21/22 March:
Saturday night sees a repeat of Total Wipeout (despite there being one new show left in the can), and a repeat of Live at the Apollo (shown on BBC One in 2007, BBC Two in 2008, and at least once on BBC Three).
Sunday night sees a repeat of The Hottest Place on Earth (shown on the 19th), followed by a repeat of Nature's Great Events (shown on the 18th), then an Antiques Roadshow repeat from earlier in the current series.

It wasn't last year and it's then that I'm comparing it to, not series 1.

I've never really understood why Angus is so popular, to be honest. He can read an autocue with a monotone sarcastic voice - but thats about it. I found him cold and aloof. I'm happy with Rob Brydon who has much more personality, warmth and wit about him. I think it might benefit a show that has always struggled to catch on.
Very uninspiring ratings last night, once again. I agree with the sentiments that Natures Great Events has been sort of wasted on Wednesdays. It dosen't seem to fit well at all and I'd have much prefered to see it air in a different slot. We seem to be waiting an age this year for the BBC's big weekday hitters - keep getting these slightly out of place nature documentaries instead.
I'm surprised people are saying there has been a lack of advertising of The Apprentice. I've seen loads of adverts for it.

The same happened to Footballers Wives ands Bad Girls.Compare series 1 of Footballers Wives to series 3 and its like two different shows.
I watched Waterloo Road on and off in series 1 and 2, last year i became a fan.Eva Pope pulls me in every week.

Don't know, but Inside Out only runs for 22 weeks per year, so a four-week One Show trial won't impact on it.

The move to Wednesday nights obviously. No EastEnders lead-in. Interestingly last night was also the first night everybody in my house forgot it was on. It's one of those shows you'll switch over to if there's nothing else to watch, but it's not exactly must-see television.
Also I don't see why you insist that The Apprentice has been getting poor promotion. I've seen quite a few ads for it. I very much doubt the ratings will be below par.

Aren't most of the promotions for normal Apprentice rather than CRDTA? I think CRDTA will easily clear 6m and it could do more if The Big Red Nose Climb does over 5m.
I wonder if the extension of The One Show on Wednesday a reaction to Five and Friends which is coming in the summer? I doubt it will do as well as TOS but it could dent its ratings.

Not from what I've seen. Unless Alan Carr's taking part in the normal series - which, admittedly, would be nice. I've only seen the teaser ad for the normal series once thus far.

I think the point "some people" can't grasp is the fact the BBC is not to blame for ITV's woes.
If the BBC closed down permanently as early as tonight, ITV would still go to the wall within ten years. Almost certainly at exactly the same point as it would with the BBC still around.
And unless ITV and its army of supporters begin to accept the reasons for their woes i.e. an unsustainably high number of commercial channels competing for ad revenue (and bad management decisions, such as dabbling in things ITV doesn't understand e.g. the internet), that dark day ITV disappears, will come about even sooner.
