[quote=Thebenster;31329170]ITV1 held up well right until 9pm. I wonder what News at Ten got as the BBC had 12m viewers between their two main channels at 10pm.

QUOTE]

I calculate that 21.5m were watching TV at 10pm (based on total BBC1/2 audience and audience share) meaning 9.5m watching however many other TV stations there are.

Surprised ITV held up OK'ish and never fell apart. Good night for the Beeb.

Just added the News at Ten overnight rating in. Inevitably it got a very low rating.

Must say, very impressive that BBC1 and ITV1 had a combined audience of 17.2m (70%) when the first Corrie was on. I really didn't expect that (as my post last night shows!).

That is ITV1's worst ever performance in the 9pm hour isnt it?

Stockwell got 1.4m across the hour.

Previous low before this was Moving Wallpaper (1.7m)/Echo Beach (1.5m) against Sport Relief on this day last year.

Natural Born Sellers got 1.7m, so worst performance (pre-Stockwell) by a 60 minute show in that slot.

So, must be worst ever. Hardly surprising though - even ITV must have expected that.

Totally underserved. With the exception of Carol Vorderman's tight dress there was nothing that entertaining until at least 10:30/11pm.

Instead of the usual live telethon next year, I think they should make a load of full length specials and air them back to back with the phone number DOG top of the screen throughout and appeals replacing the between show trails that the beeb airs or included in the shows in some way.

Dunno about anyone else, but I would have been much more likely to donate had the number been up throughout Thursday night's shows than I was last night.

great ratings for comic relief/
What happened between 9 and 9.15 for it to get a peak of over 12 million?

People switching over from ITV or who had finished watching other stuff that ended at 9pm

Anyone know how The Daily Show did for More4 this week? It got a decent bit of press coverage for the Jim Cramer stuff, and yesterday's episode was great TV. I hope it got a boost.

Also any ideas on how STV's ratings for the 9pm Friday hour compare to the rest of the network (no Moving Wallpaper/Al Murray here - possibly turning out to be a canny move by STV).

Be very interested to see a full BBC1 v ITV1 breakdown for last night - rzt?

Presumably BBC1 also did very well in the usual EE slot at 8pm if the average for the hour was 10.4m but Corrie managed 8m from 8.30-8.55 - presumably it must have been around 12m from 8-8.30 before dipping when Corrie came back on?

Good ratings, but not perhaps as massive as might have been expected with ITV only getting 1m or so in the 9pm hour - about the same as BBC1 got in 2007 when ITV1 had 4m watching a Frost repeat. I suspect the dull content of CR in the 9-10pm hour caused some flipping, denting the overall figures.

Wonder how Let's Dance will do tonight - been some stellar CR performances in the last 2 days. Should be some decent numbers again today - up to 9m?

The STV figures are included in the ITV1 overnights. I doubt we'll be able to find out how much of the figure was down to STV viewers.

I don't know why some people are so impressed by these figures, the only surprise would have been if only 5million people watched.

A sequence of programmes trailed for weeks (even on commercial channels) is like a christmas day of programmes.

The average is around 10million overall, that's not really very good for so much promotion.

Yeah, that was one of the surprises for me as well. It looks like a higher rating than usual. Maybe people who aren't into the whole telethon thing flocked to the second biggest channel (ITV1).

Between 8-8.30pm, Comic Relief got 11.2m (46%). Then from 8.30-9pm it dropped to 9.7m (38%).

I've predicted 8.9m on the RPG. I really think it's possible considering the ratings we've been getting in the last few days for Comic Relief shows.

So will the Let's Dance final tonight get a good rating against Ant & Dec? Will there still be some residual Comic Relief interest for this one?

Not really, no. The figure for the 9.15pm chunk was 12.6m. Then 12.3m for 9.30-9.45pm, and 11.7m for 9.45-10.00pm. Hardly a major slump.

Sorry Robbie, I'm not rzt.... but I do have a breakdown!

Notes from Breakdown
- five was last for the first part of the night; with Channel 4 taking over bottom place from 20:00.
- At no time is ITV surprisingly in bottom place.

Im not overly surprised Coronation Street got the ratings it did-if as people say they were two "event" episodes heavily trailed. Every show has its devotees, in the case of C/S they number 6 or 7 million who will always look to tune in-the rest rising and falling with the state of the storylines.

Ratings should be good.

I just hope Robert Webb doesn't have a wardrobe malfunction!

And they were 2nd between 9pm and 10pm (unless I read the graph wrong.)

Looks like it was a close run thing for ITV1 about 9.45 though - 2,3,4,5 all at about 1m.

Also looks like BBC1 was close to 10m at around 10.50pm, very impressive that!

Would be good to see some breakdowns for 11.45 through to the close of CR.

I don't have breakdowns, but considering it had 4.2m (53.4%) from 00:00 to 02:20, I'm guessing the audience would have just steadily declined after midnight; the 02:20 to 03:50 part had less than 1.8m.

On that note, here's something interesting in the 17:00 slot:

BBC One - The Weakest Link - 1.8m (12.5%)
BBC Two - Flog It! - 2m (14%)
ITV1 - Britain's Best Dish - Celebrity Special - 1.8m (13.1%)
Channel 4 - The Paul O'Grady Show - 2.1m (14.8%)
five - N/A

I thought The Weakest Link use to rate 2.5/3m range... it seems to have dropped a fair bit?

Is that new Weakest Link or repeats? Will BBC1 try and steal Flog It as well now?
