Also, if that same episode features the first episode of a new regular feature, a variation on "Oz And James Drink To Britain" entitled "Carol And Jo's Guide To Gourmet Ethnic Britain"....

Last Saturday, ITV got a 14.4% share, compared to BBC One's 24% share. With BBC One screening two Six Nations today, and with a relatively poor peaktime lineup for ITV, I expect a 26%+ share for BBC One, with ~12% share for ITV1.

I agree. It looks like Harry Hill's hour will be the only stuff getting even above 4m with a poor lineup. ITV's fortunes should change next week, though it's a tough battle between Lottery/Casualty and A&D.

Given their golden status and hugely expensive contracts, I reckon ITV will be very disappointed if A and D don't pull off a comfortable win against the opposition.

I was hoping we'd get some ratings this evening, but it seems like we'll have to wait until the morning.

ITV held up strong with YBF and TV Burp, but the Beeb were still dominant.

I will be very shocked if Demons is renewed. sonny2001, there were 3 Six Nations games yesterday, what were the Ratings for each? Cheers.

So farewell Demons. Intersting experiment, but probably wont be back.

The rugby was some way off Robbies predictions of 8m I'm sure there must be a reason (scheduling error, weather, or something......... anything ) Wales stuffing England next week might do a bit better but I wouldnt bank on it. The home counties chaps will all switch over for the Dads Army repeat at 6 on BBC2 as it will be all over by then.

Sorry, not sure of the order of the games, but the rugby from 2pm scored 3.7m and 29% share. it rose into the 5m+ from around 3.30.

ITV will have a better Saturday next week but I think BBC1 will hold up well. Demons was steaming pile of cack, pass the brain bleach nurse!! Ratings dropped every week and they didn't rally for the finale. Probably too expensive to recommission. Don't worry Primeval will be back soon.

Cheers sonny2001.

An 8m peak for Total Wipeout! I'm pleased for it as well; it's just harmless fun.

Harry Hill hour held up well against the rugby and Wipeout, YBF is now a consistent 5-6m performer, which, considering what it is, is excellent for it.

Nearly 8m for In It To Win It, too, which must be one of its highest ever. Demons lost viewers every week; I can't remember the last time that happened.

Do you know how well The Old Guys (BBC1, 9.40pm) and Midsomer Murders (ITV1, 8.50pm) did?

Old guys was 3.75m, 17%, but it grew to over 4m, which at that time of night is probably a good sign.

Midsommer Murders was 4.1m, 19%, it lost to Casualty, then beat Olg Guys.

Thanks a lot.

That's a big dip for The Old Guys, and it had a lead in of nearly 7m.

Midsomer did well considering it was a Saturday night repeat, up against Casualty, and had a Demons lead in. It beat The Old Guys.

That would be the legendarily bad Bonekickers I think. In the previous weeks ITV showed Doc Martin repeats and the gap between the two closed every week and Doc Martin would have evntually overtaken it, tbut for the final episode of Bonekickers the ratings went up because ITV put Trinny & Susannah against the final show.

Saturday 7th February 2009
BBC One
14:00 - Six Nations Rugby Union: England vs Italy - 3.7m (29%)
- From 15:30: 5m+ (39.2%+)
16:50 - Six Nations Rugby Union: Ireland vs France - 4.7m (24%)
19:05 - Total Wipeout - 6.6m (28%)
- peak: 8m (34%)
20:00 - The National Lottery: In It To Win It - 7.75m (33.6%)
20:50 - Casualty - 6.8m (30%)
21:40 - The Old Guys - 3.75m (17%)
- peak: ~4m (18.1%)

ITV1
18:50 - You've Been Framed - 5.4m (25%)
19:20 - Harry Hill's TV Burp - 5.6m (24%)
19:50 - Demons - 3.4m (15%)
20:50 - Midsomer Murders - 4.1m (19%)

Midsomer did very well - my guess is that it started with ~5m and dropped off towards the end.

Interesting set of ratings.

The lottery seems to be getting the Antiques Roadshow/Britannia High effect it seems and will probably be dented quite heavily from A&D next Saturday. Casualty is very steady now between 6.5-7m which is good and consistent for BBC1, however I seem to remember Casualty reguarly topping the ratings and beating the lottery shows this time last year. Total Wipeout seems to be turning into a surprise hit and it will probably definetely return-my guess is that it peaked at 19.50 with viewers turning over from TV Burp waiting for the lottery.

Harry Hill is performing well, there's no denying it, but personally I'm expecting a bit more considering rehashed best of shows were getting over 6m. ITV don't seem to be advertising the fact these are NEW episodes either. Infact ITV seem to have just given up completely on Saturday nights lately after Demons started flopping. Hopefully the return of A&D will boost Harry Hill.

Decent enough for a Midsomer repeat and managing over 4m for 2 hours of ITV primetime is something which doesn't come easy! I'm surprised The Old Guys dipped by so much, but it probably worked in CSI:NY's favour.

Ah, yes, I remember that. As you say though, even Bonekickers went up for its finale, Demons couldn't even do that.

That will have been in the last 10 minutes when some of the TV Burp viewers switched over to IITWI (such as me)

I think IITWI is a stronger programme than you might think, although next week is the last and after that A&D will be up against Let's Dance For Comic Relief.

Do you think ITV will surprise us and give Demons a second chance and will they be watching Primeval very closely this series?
