Saw a trailer for Law & Boredom UK earlier. It's a courtroom drama featuring the CPS then is it?

Blimey, that'll set pulses racing.

The trailers are hardly selling it. In fact, to the typical half-asleep ITV viewer*, it might have looked like the latest thrilling ITV crime docu-drama strand, particularly with the name Law & Order UK.

Can see 5m tops for this.

(* some of whom were so exhausted by the rugby on Saturday night that when they flicked back to ITV1 at 7.10, they ended up staying there until 10.20....)

You're so cynical RobbieSykes! Though I do have to agree, I am not impressed with the trailers. It doesn't really 'show it off' and it didn't really get me interested I can see it getting 6-7 million on its debut though.

Whitechapel had a much better trailer in my opinion.

What does it say on the ticket? "Ticket for day 2 of the Britian's Got Talent Final. Turn up every Tuesday in May just on the off chance."

Robbie says this now, but when it comes to the RPG he'll bottle it and go with a higher rating...

No idea! LOL

But the Chief Exec of The CW did say that the amount of downloads of Gossip Girl was one of the main reasons for it being renewed.

Sarah Connor is done for, but assuming the drop off isn't too massive, Dollhouse should at least see out its run.

Back in the UK, ITV need to send Pushing Daisies to ITV2 to see out its run. Either that or into a post news slot.

Saw an advert for Piers Morgans new show, shocked to see Jordan/katie Price as one of his guests. Oh and Richard Madeley. I thought it was going to be big names

I can see more people watching the news on BBC1 than this

Rumpole, Crown Court, Kavanagh QC, Judge John Deed all flopped as well then did they?

Interesting article on tubetalk about FIVE delaying House for The Mentalist which will be taking House's slot at the end of March (presumably Thursday 9pm). FIVE were probably going to give it a 10pm slot until they saw how popular it is in the US! House is now delayed until Summer/Autumn because of no room in the schedule and this is a good idea I think because FIVE don't want to be saturdated with US imports. Also not as many US imports air in the Summer/Autumn on FIVE.

I think House has gone off the boil as well though. I used to watch it religiously, now I might watch it if there was nothing else on.

Pretty poor night for CH4, but on E4 90210 seems to very stable. I do think Samantha Who could be a bit hit for CH4/E4, but I don't think it's being marketed correctly. It needs a 9pm slot to start with and I think it could do well in a C4 slot somewhere.

ITV1 and BBC1's shares look quite low in comparision to recent weeks, considering the strong schedules they both have.

A good idea if they want to drive fans of the show to illegal downloads, maybe. If they do not want to show too many US imports on the main channel, which is perfectly understandable, then they should air it first on USA.

At least why Sky 'steal' shows like 24 or Lost they bring forward the air date and better serve fans, albeit at a cost. FIVE are offering a poorer service than Hallmark, who originally premiered the series, and are just creating ill will with fans of the series.

That said, while I do not like The Mentalist, I do think it will rate better than House.

Michael.

Great rating for Whitechapel, rounding off a fantastic series. BBC1 did quite well up against it, gaining more than 5m. It shows that there is always potential for both channels to get these sort of high ratings at 9pm, if they show quality shows.

Next week is the big one for ITV with Law and Order: UK. I think after the ratings they've been getting on Monday nights recently, they'll be hoping for a 7m+ launch.

Another success story in ITV's 'Monday Night Thriller' strand and should persuade ITV to have more themed nights. Also with that strong figure I'm expecting a 6m+ launch for L&O. It won't be 7m+ most likely, purely because Heroes is starting up again on Mondays and will dent it somewhat.

BBC1 held up very well and they've been clever in putting one of their big hits up against Whitechapel. Moses Jones ended on a whimper and I was expecting more for this series, but on BBC3 a great start for Snog, Marry, Avoid in a competitive slot.

5pm is a huge battleground now with every terrestrial channel putting out good programming and ratings for all seem very similar when you work out the averages over the hour. FIVE will be very pleased that their 5pm bulletin has taken off in recent weeks and it seems viewers who watched after 'Snow Day' seem to have stuck with it which is great.

The theory of ratings decline across the episodes is contradicted again!

Do You Know Who I Am? on BBC1 is starting to look tired this season. The celeb's aren't very interesting & the old routine of turning on the waterworks when they hear about their ancestors being forced down the mine or whatever is getting really cliched now? Maybe time to pension it off even though the ratings are still ok? I think it would have dipped anyway but putting it on Monday nights has exposed it quicker than might otherwise have been the case.

Very good ratings for whitechapel last night! And from what i've heard it deserves it as well. It's quite annoying that Heroes and LAO: London will be against each other as i wanted to see both!

I doubt Law and Order will be that popular.

It's not a big brand over here (isn't only Hallmark that show it here?) and I don't think Bradley Walsh is a big draw. Add to that the poor trailer.

I'd say about 4m.

My theory on Whitechapel starting of so high was the snow. The ratings were high but the shares were the same. People got into it and watched it the following two weeks. L&O doesn't have that.
