Ah yes, forgot about that. It will most likely start the week after then. Though something will need to change for it to pick up ratings as last series it was just hovering under the 4m mark apart from the final. It could either go the same way as BB or IAC...

I wouldn't be too surprised! ITV will be wanting someone cheap and she's looking a bit desperate at the minute

However I do like GeorgeS' idea...and I think Harry Hill would be great presenting a show like this or similar.

8.50 Midweek Lottery Draws
9.00 Waterloo Road

Waterloo Road has a more primetime position, and I think IITWI would do well as it offers a real alternative to The Bill (for the moment) and the football.”

BBC tried running Jet Set 2012 in 2007 in that same 8pm slot. They only featured the Dream Number draw (main draws was shown later at 10.40pm) the whole series became a flop, it was only getting around 3 million viewers. They should benefit and show In It to Win It for 8 weeks in the new year and 8 weeks in early autumn for Saturday nights.

I think he'd be good but I'm not sure the style of show would suit him.

And the less said about Davina the better. The BBC can put entertainment there but they just haven't found the right show.

I can't help noticing that there has been rather a shortage of 9pm dramas on BBC1 so far this year. There's only one - Mistresses - on at the moment. Perhaps they're saving them all to start when Hell's Teeth returns.”

And most of the 9pm dramas on BBC1 have had solid rather than spectacular ratings with Mistresses and Survivors (which I absolutely love being examples), being examples. I can't see many BBC1 9pm dramas, apart from returning shows like Waking The Dead, Ashes To Ashes or New Tricks, getting 7/8 million viewers.

There's going to be a few Champions League games in April, so Hell's Kitchen will probably have to skip some Tuesdays.

American ratings wise, it will be interesting what The Oscars get on ABC since last year was the lowest rated ever with 32m tuning in. I have a feeling it will be either be slightly higher or more likely lower.

Also The Oscars tend to do better when high profile films are nominated. Predictions for this years Oscars are low because no big films are up for Best Picture, they say had The Dark Knight been nominated a few more people would tune in. We'll see if that prediction comes true.

One of the highest rated Oscars was when Titanic was up for Best Picture. Americans don't seem to like watching a show for three hours that features movies most of the country haven't seen.

The winners have reportedly been leaked online. Surely that won't help matters.

They should just get rid of Hells Kitchen IMO... they are handing victory on a plate in the 9pn slot to BBC that week.

Hells Kitchen - Series 3 (2007) - Official Ratings
03/09/2007 (21:00) - 3.81m
04/09/2007 (21:00) - 3.52m
05/09/2007 (21:00) - 4.29m
06/09/2007 (21:00) - 4.00m
07/09/2007 (22:00) - 2.91m - on @ 22:00 due to RWC
08/09/2007 (21:45) - 3.98m
09/09/2007 (21:00) - 3.05m
10/09/2007 (21:00) - 4.72m
11/09/2007 (21:00) - 4.23m
12/09/2007 (21:00) - 3.72m
13/09/2007 (21:00) - 3.98m
14/09/2007 - NO RATING [Under 3.31m]
15/09/2007 (21:40) - 3.79m
16/09/2007 (21:00) - 3.80m
17/09/2007 (21:00) - 5.84m

Why was this recomissioned? All of these ratings in 2009 would be below the channel slot average [excluding Tuesday and possibly Friday].

Now is that a completely different incident to the alleged leak of winners on a sheet of paper signed by an Oscar president that went online. They say that one was a fake.

I think it might be a while before we see another Wednesday night quiz on BBC One. They moved Jet Set from Saturdays to Wednesdays in 2007 and its ratings promptly fell from 6/7m to 2m!

It must have done well with 16-34s and ABC1 viewers. As for the Friday with no rating, that is because it aired at 10.15pm due to the Rugby World Cup. The overnight was 2.8m.

It shouldn't be on in April, IMO. But it would be good to fill 3 weeks in summer. I'm not sure how ITV plan to fill this summer, but I get the impression that any original material would be good.

There was a year when the list was leaked and the academy said it was faked but every single result turned out to be correct. It was the year when American Beauty won Best Picture.

I would think if The Academy wants to increase the ratings for the Oscars, they should have more mainstream films nominated and this is true for awards like the Golden Globes and the Emmys which have declined due to the nominating stuff which the majority of the audience haven't watched or heard of.

I think it should be scheduled in the early Autumn, like last year. There won't be any Rugby World Cup to interrupt it, and I feel it could bring some 5m+ ratings for ITV.

I think Angus Deayton is more important to the show than Marco Pierre-White from a viewers perspective. His quirks make the show light & fun. And I think ITV should have tried again with Gordon Ramsey. I think that would take the show to a new level. Pierre-White has flopped with his own shows, and Ramsey would be a brilliant coup.

As for Saturday ratings, I'm looking forward to them. I thought I'd predict some:-

Total Wipeout: 5.7m
Lets Dance for Comic Relief: 4.8m
You've Been Framed: 5.3m
Harry Hill's TV Burp: 6.3m
The Colour of Money: 5.6m
Saturday Night Takeaway: 6.9m
The Bourne Identity: 2.7m
Casualty: 5.9m
The National Lottery: 6.2m

Pretty good for Taggart, one of its best ratings for a while. Diabolical for Pushing Daisies.

Also, the soaps seem down, as does QI.

Some low figures for the soaps, though the first Corrie did ok.

Decent rating for Taggart However, Pushing Daisies is really struggling. It could be because viewers know the show is ending anyway so aren't bothering to tune in?

Glad to see Taggart doing well on Friday. Pushing Daisys, oh dear, awful figures and another month or so to go yet
