Harry Hill shouldn't be shunted round the schedules it has been shown that he gets great ratings in a fixed primetime slot. LEAVE HIM THERE!!!!!

I disagree and think it could nudge 7 million. It was much better than I expected and I did expect it to be good anyway. BBC1 really have been caught on the hop, their dramas don't look as good as ITV's.

Law and Order : Uk should get at least 6-7m maybe 8m.

It was better than I though it would be.

I thought it was the best drama series ITV have made in a few years at least.

I can imagine a few viewers intending to watch WDYTYA but wanting to see few minutes of L&O and then sticking with it after realising it was really quite good.

Such a shame ITV have been hit so badly financially, otherwise I think they would have been happy to invest more in drama of this quality (and the other Monday night dramas). When L&O and the others they've got on the shelf finish up it could be some time before we see anything like them in the near future.

I agree. That's why I want it do well. ITV need a hit drama series. Tomorrow's ratings will be very interesting.

I really hope Law and Order does well, as it was excellent imo. 6.5m would be very good.

There is no reaon why Law and Order shouldnt appeal to the 7 or even 8 million viewers who have been watching ITV at 9.00pm on Mondays recently. It has one of the better leg ups from the previous show and WDTYA probably isnt going to increase its viewership this run now. I think it may well get more than people are suggesting-especially for the first one.

With ITV establishing crime dramas on Monday nights what can BBC1 put there that can compete?

Pushing Daisies launched with 5.7m. Don't you just hate it when people get their facts wrong!?

BTW, i hate PD...a terrible show. I'm not surprised its tanking.

I think Law and Order will have done very well. There is no reason it can't have done as well as those thrillers that have gone before it. I expect it to debut over 7 million, perhaps settling into mid-6 million range for its run. Which would be a great success.

I just hate it when people are needlessly biased.

- Damages in the wrong slot, late on Sunday nights aren't exactly the place where you want to watch a gripping show like Damages. If anything, Pushing Daisies is more suited there, and if they were to swap slots, I think both shows would benefit.

- Who Wants to be a Millionaire? is a solid show, and Holby City is by no means a 'TV giant'. I would compare Who Wants to be a Millionaire? to The Weakest Link on BBC1, dependable and consistent. But it can get over 5million viewers in the 9pm slot on weekdays, and perhaps that's where it should be in future. I feel scheduling:-

7:00pm Emmerdale
8:00pm The Bill
9:00pm Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

on Tuesday nights wouldn't do the channel any harm. The Bill is missing episodes from Live Football, and Who Wants to be a Millionaire is always a good filler. And between CL, I can't think of anything better to keep viewers stable.

- Robbie, I think you'll be very surprised by the Law & Order ratings. It was a great show as well.

I think Law & Order could easily go either way because it's a copied format, opposed to many other thrillers which were more original. However when I watched it I thought it felt like it had been on ITV for years and it was an established brand, like Taggart or Midsomer. I do hope it gets good ratings, because it's the sort of show that can show one offs like Taggart in the future.

A lot of people watching TV last night for 6.4m to only be a 26% share.

Good for Law & Order. From what I have read I can't see it dropping dramatically next week, I can see it keeping around that figure for its entire run.

Good result for BBC2. That must be its highest rating since its ITV days.

I think it could well rise next week though it could face stiff opposition from the C4 Heavyweight...Revenge of the Binmen

Very good ratings all around IMO. Good start for LAO:UK, very good for UC.

The Colour of Money got an Appreciation Index of just 67 - that's terrible !

To put it into perspective, it was the joint least liked programme on any terrestrial channel between last Thursday and Saturday (alongside the National Lottery). The second worst was GMTV with an AI of 68.

Quite a good start for Law and Order: UK last night. I thought it would have been a tad closer to 7m, but 6.4m is still well up from last year's slot average. Will be interesting if it can hold onto its audience next week. Seems like most people on the DS thread had positive thoughts about it, though the breakdown shows that it fell from 6.9m (28%) at the start to 6.1m (26%) at the end.

As long as it stays above the 5m mark, I think it'll get a recomission. The creator Dick Wolf has said that he wants ITV to recomission 18-20 episodes next time, so I wonder if ITV will be willing to do that.

I actually thought L&O would do a bit better, but it still did very well.

Good start for Law & Order UK, I can see it being a grower as they are stand alone episodes. Easy to dip in and out of.

Should have a temporary resolution to the Tuesday night problem tonight with Man Utd featuring on ITV1.

Then it's batten down the hatches time on Friday, from what I've seen of Al Murray's sketch show, it could be in for a bumpy ride.
