iPhone (4S) keeps crashing even though (x)% of battery left
Does anyone else have this problem?
Your iPhone is showing say 55% of battery left, then all of a sudden it goes off. You plug it back in and it recharges from this point even though initially when you do it shows the battery empty graphic. I've read one or two suggested cures on the net like letting your battery drain down, recharge to 100% without using and it'll be ok for a while, but that doesn't seem to work. Nor does a simple reset. Any suggestions would be appreciated

It sounds like your battery needs to recalibrate. If advise letting it run down completely at least once or twice a week and to not keep 'topping up' your charge. You know, when you think you'll need a bit more battery life. That seemed to work for me.

I am having the same problem with my iphone 5. I have tried to recalibrate but think the battery is getting knackered.

Yeah, I tried the above suggestion and thought it'd done the trick as the battery went right down next time around......but the following time I recharged it from scratch, started using it again and it crashed on 55%

This would happen on my 4S. Sometimes it would die at around 25% battery level and wouldn't turn on again until hooked up to a charger. Once hooked up it would begin to charge from the level it switched off at.
To try and resolve my problem I ran the battery down completely until it actually died. I then charged it to 100% without using it and then once at 100% and still plugged in, do a hard reset on the phone. To do this you hold in the power button and home button. It should then reset (all data retained) but may just turn off instead and need switching back on. |
