Everytime i hear auld lang syne it makes me want to punch everyone in the room singing it and doing that silly dance.

Every bloody year people sing this rubbish, for me singing teletubbies would be more fun.

Anyone else agree?

It's called tradition. And that's what Auld Lang Syne literally means...for the sake of old times.
What do you suggest, a foreign import like ABBA's 'Happy New Year'?
Or U2's 'New Year's Day'? - too melancholy!

It is annoying and cringeworthy unless you've had a few pints beforehand. I actually prefer ABBA's Happy New Year.

The first I'd heard of that tune was when I heard Cliff Richard's "Millennium Prayer", so it always makes me think of that!
