John Lewis Faulty iPad
-Batman-
01-01-2014
I bought a iPad 3 on launch day when they were released. About 3 months warranty left out of there 2 year warranty they offer on iPads.

Noticed the other day that the front camera is only showing a black screen and no picture. Restored the software through iTunes thinking it could be a software glitch but no joy still the same.

Does anyone know how John Lewis handle faulty iPads under the 2 year warranty. Wouldn't of thought replacing the camera a straight forward repair isn't the screen all bonded in and would need a screen replacement if they opened the iPad up.

I've had to take a couple of things back to JL, and they were replaced without question (too low value to be repaired). It has a very good reputation. As well as which, the staff generally know what they're talking about, unlike some high street chains.

Take it back as soon as you can, along with the receipt or other proof of purchase, such as a credit card bill.

take it back. The camera wasn't working on my Air and Apple swapped the iPad out straight away.
Only problem is you'll get one with iOS 7 which is buggy as hell for many users

As every problem is judged on its own merit it makes complete sense to talk to the butcher and not the block which is what you should be doing anyway. OnlyJL can answer your question any comment here will be purely supposition.

^^^^ In English (and slightly less patronising), take it back to John Lewis, they have a great reputation.
