I like her but think she would do better in comedy.
She is very much like a young Barbra Streisand (without the voice!).
In last nights US show she got through to the next round but will she make it to the final 12 girls?

i like her voice. I hope she does well.

I could Leigh - it says more about you to make an underhand comment like that really it does. Are you jealous cos Mikalah at 16 has reached the finals of a huge contest like American Idol.........wow.....what an achievement for such a vibrant young lady, her mom must be very proud of her......she is brilliant.

Jodie, it is not 'underhand' to have an opinion, whether it is the same or different to yours. Not everyone thinks the same about all the contestants or it'd be a boring competition, surely?

Probably best to leave the personal comments about other posters out of this jodie1.Its immature and unnecessary.

This may be a pleasant suprise to Jodie, but i'm starting to warm to Mikalah! After tonight's show, I found her to have quite endearing qualities , but I could be wrong, and totally go back to disliking her next week!

Thank you for your constructive comment, which I will take on board. However, patronising comments are just as bad.

Pelicano, not a problem with differing views, more a problem with innapropriate name calling. Mikala is a young girl chasing a dream and so far her assertiveness has been all about that.

I totally agree, a lot of people say she's arrogant but i have to disagree with that. I go to school with her and she's just a really nice and funny girl. After she made it to Hollywood she came back to school and wasn't big headed or concieted at all, she was just her same friendly self. The only difference is that she was a little wierded out by a all of the people that were asking her for her autograph after being on t.v. for like 30 seconds. That's not really the kind of attitude i would expect from an arrogant person.

I agree with you Jase, people judged Mikalah on her first showing on stage. However I was highly impressed by her courage as I could see her hand which holding the microphone was shaking. There is nothing wrong with a bit of self confidence, but some folk might wish they had some of Mikalah's nerve. Me for one.

On the offical site it says she is 17 .
She has sung at the "Whitehouse" In front of Clinton.
That could be why she is so confident.
She seems sweet.

She sang "Young Hearts Run Free" and according to many posters on other forums, she didn't do too good.

She'll probably get through on attitude and personality. She wasn't bad, wore amazingly high high heels, but her accent was very thick and annoying in her singing. Once again, she included at least one judge's name in her singing.

Has her accent always been that awful? It seems like she's playing it up. Or maybe it lets loose when she's nervous.

Thought she was bad last night. Don't like her attitude or her singing voice. There are much better singers in the competition than her and I can't see her lasting more than a few weeks. Plus she irritates the hell out of me!

cut her some slack, she is just turned 17 and very nervous. I think she is a great kid, personality and voice.
