Isn't it great to have these writers back.

Of the recent episodes I think Jeff Povey's were the weakest, his episodes seem a little flat to me.

To be fair to her, she is a decent scriptwriter when given something good to write. She is useless at Storylining.

On an unrelated note, last week's Omnibus episode had this week's writer's credited.
It was so good seeing Gillian Richmond on the credits again. Can't wait for her episode on Wednesday.

I didn't realise Katie Douglas had written an episode this year. I used to dread them.

I wish they would bring Sarah Phelps back. Her writing was wonderful.

Is she related to Gina Dallow that wrote Peggy's episode last year??

And I presume we have defiantly seen the last of simon Ashdown, who wrote his last on Christmas Day.

As a whole though the writing team looks much stronger now than it has for quite a while. Katie Douglas is actually a decent scriptwriter but she was appalling at storylining, It just goes to show how poor episodes are often down to poor storylining not writing.

I have a hunch Daran Little will top the list this year.

I'm sure when Laceys return was announced Jake Wood tweeted about Stacey's return script and he tweeted Simon Ashdown.

Just looked at his twitter account and Jake Wood never mentioned Simon Ashdown writing Stacey's return episodes. I've looked at the cast list for the next 2 weeks and Simon Ashdown isn't writing any episodes. I think he has left EE for good.

Its a shame if he won't write for Eastenders anymore, Ashdown may of had his critics and I am pleased he is no longer on the storylining team but he is a fantastic writer especially for the Brannings and Stacey who he has written so well for over the years.

We still don't know for sure that Simon Ashdown has left altogether or whether he will still be writing the occasional episode. I'm sure even if he has left he'll be back writing on the show at some point.

Leo Richardson 1 of the new writers tweeted his 1st episode will be April 4th.

I'm sure Ashdown will be back every now and then. There's been plenty of episodes this year that would usually be Ashdown episodes.

Ashdown normally writes the big coveted episodes, but maybe Daran Little possibly has taken over that role now.

I've noticed so far Daran Little has written two of the big Carter stories with Johnny coming out and Stan's arrival, perhaps he will be to the Carters what Ashdown was for the Brannings? To be honest I want an equal share of rights when it comes to the 'big' episodes, there are some great writers in EE right now so should all get the chance.

I'm not sure if I trust Daran with Stacey. I never liked the way she was suddenly in love with Ryan when Bradley had barely been cold, although this could have been more down to Kirkwood, but the thing I can't forgive him for was Dot calling herself ''Dot Cotton'' in the Vic at random despite being Jim's wife for several years. It felt completely out of character. That's why I have doubts about Daran and his EE history.

To be fair, that should have been picked up by the script editor. The EP, series producer and series consultant also read through every draft of a script.

Maybe it was intentional? I can't remember the scene to make a judgement.
