My wife often buys purpose made packs of Raclette cheese when in France, but what cheeses can I buy in a British supermarket can also be used in a Raclette?
Thanks.

You can buy Raclette cheese here.

Any melting cheese will do though. Gruyere is nice. Gouda also. Cheddar…

Whatever you like.

Thanks, I've heard Waitrose do it, but don't have a local one and may need something for tomorrow night. Found some in the bottom of a chest freezer that may be 2-3 years old..not sure about that!

I wouldn't.

Gruyere and / or Red Leceister would be my choices if I couldn't get Raclette. Emmental also works.

Think I'll have raclette again next weekend.

I had it a couple of weeks ago. I don't know why we don't have it more often. It saves me so much cooking time.

I like scallops and chorizo as well as the continental meats. Big prawns work well too.

Not very trad I know. I'm a pig.

I suppose it it would depend how hot your device / top plate gets whether you could sear the scallops quickly enough but yummy. Deliciously meaty.

Wish I was having it this weekend now. Alas food already ordered.
