Yeah I read that straight after I got my Moto G although in all fairness I suspect the Moto X will be nearer £300 or so?
I think around £175-250 it not going be £300 as Nexus 5 is that much and the Nexus 5 is a better device by a fair bit. Only major advantage the Moto X has over the Moto G is LTE, an extra GB of ram and slightly bigger battery. But it only has a dual core instead of a quad core.

From what I have read there are no actual differences other than the build ID (i.e. Tesco have taken the retail build and renamed it).

I don't know if having the Tesco build ID means waiting longer for updates though, so I followed a guide to flash the retail ROM.
I would of thought Motorola version would update before the Tesco's
Just downloaded the stock version for my Moto G will have a go in a min to update.

Definitely, miles better than the y300. I had one to test for work and decided to keep it rather than swap to a Nokia 820.

Some over at HotUKdeals have said their Tesco Moto G's have got the Kitkat update yesterday/today.

I don't think the X is really all that designed to be better, just premium. A few things are obviously better though.

Nearly 6 months they just did a 2014 US price refesh.
http://motorola-blog.blogspot.com/20...-everyone.html
"just $399 on any major US carrier, without a contract. "
In a way the blurb is advertising the t-mobile US type plans

What puzzles me is the 'Made in America' tag.
Could it be some other device, or even the X rebranded?

I think they'll bring the Moto X to Europe but they could rebrand it and who knows about where it'll be made, possibly in the place in China that makes all the bits in kit form before it gets sent to the USA to put it together (I wonder just how much is assembled in the US?)

so a $399 price suggests to me a £300 - £349 price range if it comes here.

I think maybe much would also come from Mexico.
They have a foundry there too though its maybe unlikely to be used for this.

Remember that China often assembles kit from elsewhere.

Ignore the website, if youre passing a Tesco, just pop in and ask.

Out of curiosity i was in one today, web site said sold out, i asked in shop, and they said, yes got both 8 + 16 in stock in shop.
