Do You Find The Whistling Ringtone So Annoying?
I first heard it sort of last Spring 2013 when this man's phone kept doing it in Selby Railway Station and I started to think how annoying it was as it kept going off like every 10 seconds. Now though nearly everyone has got it going off on their phone even my Dad and it's really getting annoying to me. Every time I go on the train now I always hear at least 1 person's phone doing that whistling ringtone like every 10 seconds. I also in an office I went to today to speak with someone had to tell them to turn their phone off. Their phone was making that same whistling ringtone noise as well. Is this just a faze people are going through with their mobile and will it go soon and does anyone else find it annoying when it keeps going off like every 10 seconds?

Yes I find it annoying.
It isn't going away anytime soon just like the iPhone default ringtones aren't going away anytime soon. |

I'm hoping it is just a phase like the Nokia ringtone, the crazy frog ringtone and every other fad ringtone/alert that when you hear it in a group you have 90% of people fumbling for their phone.

Default ringtones on a popular handset only ever go away when that handset goes out of use.
People not knowing how to change their default notification isn't a fad, and isn't going away. |

I'd imagine most users of mobile phones now know how to change their ringtones/alerts but don't because the default one is the popular one they hear.

Oh yes!! Its Samsung isn't it?
After he had just got an S3 I told a friend of mine to "change that f***ing text tone NOW before I drown it forever in your pint". I'm not normally that aggressive, and I have an Xperia Z which can't be similarly drowned in revenge, but I really dislike that tone. |

Most people don't change it because they don't know how or can't be bothered. Even everyone I know with the ringtone still hates it. |
