I am sorry but how much effort is it really with internet banking to get a statement, grab a screen print and email them, sorry something isn't right here.

The time you've wasted typing ambiguous posts on here would've been better spent sending Three the statement and getting your dough back.

Smells of the things male cows lay in the fields. How much do you pay a month and how much was the S4 to buy?

Three wouldn't contact you saying they know you need to get £100 refunded but you need to prove it. They would have just done it (as they are aware they owe it) or just not (because it was the handset cost)
There is no in between going by your description of events.

Because why should I have to do that?
Because you want your £100 back, and this way is much quicker and easier than your suggestion of going through Trading Standards?

Can you not see that they're clearly fobbing me off?
I sympathise with your situation.. it shouldn't be hassle for you to get your deposit back. But come off it, they're a professional company, not a bunch of school children - they will not be deliberately fobbing you off so they can keep your money.

Three HAVE contacted me to say the DEPOSIT of £100 is ready to be returned because it's been 6 months but they cannot locate it so they need me to send a bank statement to them to prove I paid it
to be honest this sounds strange. Why would they contact you to say that the deposit to ready to be returned and then ask you to prove you paid it? If they contacted you about it, then they must know you paid it .... as if you didn't pay it then they wouldn't have given you the contract, and they wouldn't be trying to return it.

Just sounds like something it missing in the explanation to me .... and yes I'd of just printed out a statement in 2 mins and got my money back by now.

I never had to prove I'd paid to get my deposit back.

As I said earlier, I got it late, due to my own late payment 2 months previous to the 6 month deadline, but the cheque arrived on my doorstep with no prompting, no notice it was arriving, no one contacting me to say "it's ready to be sent", no nothing.

It just arrived.

I still say the £100 was an up front fee, which would explain why, according to the OP, Three have no record of any deposit.

And also, yes, like the fm above me, I'd of just printed out a statement in 2 mins and got my money back by now, without all this self made hassle and threats of trading standards.

Amazing how difficult some people make situations.

A lot of you act like I'm making an issue out of nothing and dragging it out but you've got to admit it's disappointing to know that they're trying their best to keep my money. I know they're lying to me and the only way of proving it is by sending a bank statement but my point is I should not have to.

Are you going to send a bank statement?

Sorry, you appear to be.

but you've got to admit it's disappointing to know that they're trying their best to keep my money.
No they're not. If it is as you say then it's a simple clerical error!

I know they're lying to me
See point 2

No, you shouldn't have to, but sometimes mistakes happen, and by simply grabbing a screenshot of your statement and emailing them this could have been sorted on Friday when you first came here whining about it!

Mountains and molehills spring to mind here.

When there is a dispute or an error has been made it is always best to try and follow a simple request like sending a bank statement. As far as Three are concerned it doesn't say it on their systems so you could be trying to cheat them. All they are asking is for proof of the payment and they will resolve it for you.

I know it isn't going anywhere near court, but if it did then the court would be asking why you didn't follow a simple request in order to resolve the dispute with the other party and they probably wouldn't look favourably on you for refusing to send a statement.

From what you've said so far i'd say it's the opposite way around as it seems they're doing all they can to give you your deposit back, but your the one that's holding things up.
Well not long to go now then your local trading standards will be open and you can see if they can offer better advise than what's already been offered here.

You've probably spent more time posting in this thread than it would take to get a bank statement and give it to them.

They obviously don't want to pay you unless they've got proof that you once paid them. You can easily supply that proof. Why is that "trying their best to keep yout money"? It sounds like they're making it simple for you. If they wanted to make it difficult they'd just say they had no record at all and you'd have to look at making a small claims case or something.

Three are the ones who took the money.

It's their job to return it. Why can't they go look at their own bank statements?

If they have and haven't been able to locate it?
