How I would execute the twist...

Emma did say to us "Or will they?" in reference to them facing eviction in pairs.

My way would be to do it like Sara and Lisa's cash prize in BB9, but this time it is about eviction instead of money.

They both have a "Stay" or "Abandon" token. At the same time they must reveal what they decided. By putting "Stay" they will stay in their pairs and believe they will stay together. By putting "Abandon" they think they will be broken up and be individual again. But instead, the opposite happens...

So for example, they both stay loyal, "Stay" thinking they would both face eviction, they will both be rewarded by sticking to their partner and be free from the handcuffs and escape eviction, both put "abandon", they end up facing eviction both INDIVIDUALLY as a punish for being selfish.

Or one puts "Stay" and another "Abandon", the one that wants to "stay" with their pair will be rewarded, the other who tries to wriggle away will be put up for eviction.

So basically, it's about loyalty. Would you sacrifice and agree to be put up for eviction? The selflessness will help you escape. Try and get rid of your partner, the opposite.

Bump! What do people think? Lame?

Interesting but I don't think it makes much sense to do a loyalty test when they've only known each other for a couple of minutes.

Plus, a Prisoner's Dilemma situation where the dilemma isn't fairly described isn't interesting. There's already negative stigma against them since the public will probably not be fond of anyone who picks abandon, so penalising the abandon choice even more doesn't make much sense.
