And what about Sunday? You say he was rubbish in his own series when the rest were pretty good. But his fellow rival celebrity skaters were no pushovers this time round either. He had the likes of Bonnie Landford and Ray Quinn. This time last year he could not lace up a pair of skates without falling down. The guy was a no-hoper. But what I saw on Sunday was someone who finally managed to skate with balance and actual fluidity and grace. He finally looked comfortable putting one skate in front of the other. He didn't really wobble much at all. Even if he couldn't perform much in the way of tricks. But the best trick was just having the last laugh and showing us he
can skate. He was performing on the level we pretty much say Kyran did in Week 1 of his series. In fact he was on the same level as most of them in Week 1 of their series.
But the problem with being good is you get boring and repetitive. A yawn-fest. You plateau. You hit the ceiling. It isn't possible to improve any more. It is the same time and time again. But at Joe's level there is acres of room to become better. That is where the losers like Joe Pasquale, Todd Carty and Keith Chegwin can look better than the top ones. Any improvement will all come from the ones who are the bottom of the pecking order.
Only Jason saw that. The other judges were mean. He should have been given a 10 for just managing to stand up straight without wobbling.
