Team Kyran Bracken
For all you Kyran fans.
I loved him during series 2 and I am glad he is back for this series, one of my reasons for watching again. I just wish he had been reunited with Melanie

I still miss Fred & Mel loads.
![]() I am really looking forward to seeing him again. Just hope people vote - worried a bit this week as having done the show originally seven years ago he won't be fresh in people's minds. Plus I hope the injury doesn't hold him back - read that he missed 9 weeks training and it was touch & go for a while as to whether he would be fit enough to take part. He does have the pimp slot though. I think he & Nina will have a great partnership though & they have skated together before. |

I miss Melanie more than I do Fred. Looking forward to Kyran (amongst others) and think he could be better than people expect

As Kyran has been skating as a professional skater in shows now for some years, people's expectations of him are going to be very high, and I wonder if he will live up to them?
TBH, as a pro skater, I wonder if he should even be included at all? |

Controversially, I'm actually hoping that Kyran Bracken is booted off first! He has already annoyed me by begging Chico to ask all his fans to vote for him on Twitter because he's obviously afraid due to the lack of judge input in tonight's outcome... pretty embarrassing for someone who is supposed to be practically a pro skater these days! And don't get me started on the way his shows have gone in the last few years!
I doubt that Kyran & Melanie would ever skate together again, didn't she have a go at him for making out like he was a professional? |

Thats puzzled me as well, when I heard his name mentioned in connection with the last series of DOI I thought he may have been signed up as one of the Pro skaters!
I doubt that his ego needs the boost of people telling him things like that - for a REAL pro skater, watch the likes of Dan, Matt and Lukasz!

You're not Kyran Bracken in disguise are you!?

I meant he was a Pro Skater as in he now earns his living from Ice skating rather than Rugby or anything else, I realise he doesn't have the years of competitive skating that the likes of Dan, Matt and others.

I really enjoyed Kyran's skating and his Chasing Cars routine was beautiful.

It's a pity Jason didn't think so. How ridiculous is his scoring to give Kyran half a point LESS than Joe Pasquale? No wonder Karen got upset and then Jason interrupted her critique. Oh well, it makes good headlines I suppose.

I was Team Jorgie. Do you guys mind if I join your party instead? I thought Kyran was great tonight and he's probably now the person I'm backing to win. I thought Jason was a bit out of line saying "you haven't done the show for a few years and it shows" considering Kyran has kept up the skating and then he had a go at Karen afterwards with the "drone on" comment, not to mention the scoring of Joe Pasquale.

I did think Jorgie would have gone further, I think voters might have gone she is safe I won't vote routine. I loved seeing Kyran back, saved the best til last.

I enjoyed Kyran's performance the most tonight. Don't know about anybody's experience or lack of, so just judge it on what I enjoy on the night. To me, Kyran was the best

As a relative newbie to DOI, can someone tell me exactly what KB does for a living? I gather he's a pro skater, as in he makes his living from and by skating, but in what capacity? I was just surprised that he wasn't head and shoulders above everyone else. If he really has been pro for five or six years or something, how can he seemingly be a worse skater than - or at best, at the same standard as - many of the others who, I'd bet, haven't set foot on a skating rink since they left the show? This is not a dig at him, BTW, I've liked him since his rugby days, I just had higher expectations of him.

KB retired from Rugby; he did DOI however many years ago it was now, and liked the skating so much that he concentrated on doing it after DOI, turning professional and skating in T&D's many shows, such as Disney on Ice etc., which is largely what he now does for a living. Like you, I expected him to be better. I'm sure his skating was excellent, but he still hasn't learn to perform which, as that is what Jason is marking, is why he gave KB such a low mark. |

DOI taught him to skate well enough to take part in relatively low-key shows, it didn't teach him to skate to the standard of seasoned show skaters and/or competitive ones who've moved over into show skating. People may have been thinking about the fact that he's fronted various shows but having seen one or two of them that aspect of it is more of a business thing than a skating thing IMO.
I'm not saying he isn't any good, but people might have had unrealistic expectations. Interesting that Karen was fulsome in her praise of him, I don't normally knock her for things, but as she has guested on his shows in the past I have to wonder how much of that was governed by knowledge and experience, though I know Robin was also positive about him. |

I understand Kyran only took relatively small roles in the shows he's appeared in, but that doesn't alter the fact that he is now a professional skater, and as such has been skating regularly ever since he appeared in previous DOI.

I think some people do clearly have inflated expectations - however you can definitely tell he has kept up the skating & for me he's the best technical skater there at the moment. Ray may well surpass him in that department as the series goes on though - to me Ray is more of a natural whereas I think Kyran has to work at it a bit more if you get my drift. He does other stuff too including some Rugby coaching - he coaches some of the England Scrum Halves & also coaches the Saracens Under 16s team. |
