Just a thought on costume here.....

If this is episode 1..... he's still going to be wearing Matt Smith's outfit!

For three weeks or so, most likely.

There was no announcement about what episode they were filming first. They haven't started in order before, I believe, so it wasn't expected until it started filtering through.

Late January costume reveal was previously mentioned by a set reporter, however.

Been getting all excited following the pictures on Twitter seeing the gang back and then realised 9 months away. #sad face

Doctor Who Official ‏@bbcdoctorwho 4m
Filming has started on the new series of #DoctorWho! Full story and exclusive first pic of the new Doctor very soon… http://bbc.in/1iNCCAI

Hopefully it will show the outfit, it should do as it's the kind of thing they would want to release themselves before it leaks. After that I'll be avoiding any spoilers like the plague (before accidentally spoiling something with only a few weeks/days to go.)

All I know is they have already shot Clara's death scene. Twice.

Or maybe early January

If it's set during WW1 does that mean the Paternoster Gang have time travelled to get there or are they 15 or so years older?

Clockwork?”

Ep1 written by Moffat
Ep2 written by Phil Ford

both directed by Wheatley.

The fact that Ford wrote The Waters of Mars fills me with anticipation. My favourite episode of Doctor Who EVER.

If it's a WW1 ep they've obviously done it to mark the centenary

True but how are the Paternoster gang involved?

Are they transported to WW1 or are we just meeting them much later in their time stream? They might have to age up Jenny a bit if it's the latter.

Slight change of topic but series 8 relevant.... Why is it that the TARDIS was crashing just after the regeneration?

I could understand it from Tennant to Smith, the whole radiation blast thing + The Silence but are we to expect a TARDIS crash every time a regeneration happens now?

Well, that is an interesting question. I don't know for certain, but I'm guessing they're usually based in around the 1890s? So this would be 24 years later.... I would put jenny down as late 20s at the youngest so she should be 50 ish if it's WW1. So either they will ignore the issue, have them also be Time Travellers or make Jenny's unaging some kind of plot device. Or perhaps, as you say, age her up but I can't really see this happening

Didn't they film Flesh and Stone/Time of Angels first in Series 5? I remember on the commentary Karen and Matt saying that was their first episode.

They did, yes.

Catrin was definitely not made up to look aged in todays filming so make of that what you will.

As this is Moffat it'll probably be a one line explanation whilst running that involves some Silurian secretion that stops humans aging, and as this is Moffat probably a coy look between Vastra and Jenny to imply how that secretion is deployed.

So smart, snappy, funny, exciting, not bogged down in boring hard sci-fi explanations and sexy? Yep. Sounds like Moffat!
