I have to agree that when good skaters start going over someone who is a "joke act" it does get a bit annoying

But I do agree with your point too. If people weren't allowed to vote for who they wanted and all had to vote on the best skaters, theres little point having a public vote.

I don't always agree with the result, but not everyone thinks the same as me, so I just think, "meh, it wasn't for me, but if people want that person in the show then fair enough, everyone has an equal opportunity of getting through"

Yes, this, it's one of the main reasons. There's no way to say it without sounding horrible, because I'm sure it's not true and she's lovely, but she did come across a bit dim. Like she had nothing to say except silly random utterings and no proper answers. She wasn't entirely like that last night but there were still elements.

People might find Hayley annoying, but she manages to endear herself to an audience by sounding bright and on the ball.
