So, you don't like her because she claims benefits.

Why is she a bitch

In order to actually claim benefits you have to fit the criteria and I'm sure someone relatively well known like her will be properly look into before she could claim.

Anyway she clearly said up until last week she was on benefits so she is no more and therefore can do what the Hell she likes. I wasn't particularly interested in her but I have warmed to her now and really hope she does well.

Some people need a break, life can dish up some tough cards and mean they have to make tougher choices.”

Completely agree with you

My issue wasn't with her claiming benefits, my issue is that I doubt she was actively seeking work like another claimant of Job Seeker's Allowance. She's from the world of Showbiz, and I doubt she'd lower herself to working in somewhere like a supermarket. So she's accepted a cheque from Big Brother... What's gonna happen when that runs out? She'll be back on benefits, looking for her idea of work, but by then she won't have any relevance and she'll have no choice but to get a real job.

So now she's got a space on this show (uh why) so we can all fund her debt problems??

Fair enough they're all in it for the money in some respect but her pitiful benefits reference really was scraping the barrel”

The fact that she's being slagged off here for being on benefits proves the point that she was brave to admit it! And being on CBB is a job. She's worked in entertainment for many years and this is an entertainment job...nuff said!

She may not have been on JSA.

she was working looking after babies and children to give foster parents a break actually - and intends to continue doing more of the same after CBB- we don't know how well that paid work was and for how long either.
...but how do you know she wasn't 'actively' seeking work while on benefits anyway ? you don't know her private life and circumstances to even make such an assumption.
There are forms, questions and lot of info that has to be declared before she'd have been entitled to a penny from the benefits system, like anyone else making claims for benefits - why you think she'd have been any different. And if she was struggling and had to claim benefits, why wouldn't she apply for a job like working in a supermarket, who are you to say she'd feel above that kind of job - we don't know her. Lot of people in that industry work in bars and supermarkets and call centres between jobs, why would she be any different - and she has suffered from ill health too by the way.

Ah, well that's another issue. What alternative is there? ESA, for the ill and disabled? As far as I can tell, she's perfectly fine. She seems to be coping well in the Big Brother house. I'd be even more angry if I found out she was claiming ESA, as she's clearly fit enough to work.

Thing is imagine her working in a supermarket and every eejit popping in for a pint of milk taking her picture, tweeting about it, the endless whats aisles the salsa in cos im in the mood for dancing jokes... It would be hard to get and keep a job in that sort of enviroment.

Im sure she hss her reasons for being on benefit and entitled to keep it to herself.

I know if I was in her position I'd realize that my career in showbiz is over, and I need to start planning an alternative career in the long term to support myself. Like I said, she's accepted a cheque from Big Brother which is all well and good, but that won't last, and she'll be in the exact same position, perhaps worse.

She wouldn't be able to get benefits if she wasn't actively seeking work as I'm sure you know. More than one person has said on here she has been doing a job that can be very well equated with normal IE looking after babies for foster care relief. She is no longer on benefits as she is working and if she needs to sign on again I'm sure she will have to apply and it will be up to the authorities whether she will receive benefits or not.

Whatever, none of this makes her a bitch.

You have a point, I suppose. Although I think her day has passed. I certainly wouldn't recognize her, and I can't imagine she has a huge fanbase of stalkers. She's no Princess Di, the paparazzi aren't exactly hounding her.

Could not stand her sister Coleen, either in The Nolans or when she was in CBB. Linda is coming across well and I would not wish what she has gone through in the last few years on anybody. Wish her well.

just as well she got a job then isn't it, on CBB getting paid - or she'd still be on benefits trying to find a way out wouldn't she - AND perhaps CBB will lead to her getting more work, perhaps it won't but it often does, he sister has got work after reality tv shows - and cant see her being worse off after CBB if she's had a large payment to keep her going for a while as a cushion.

This is all conjecture.

And in any case, we don't even know if it was Job Seeker's Allowance that she was claiming. We're just assuming that it was. Wasn't she recently unwell with cancer? Perhaps it was some kind of incapacity benefit.

You shouldn't worry about it so much.

Well said.
It sounds like she's had a bad time recently so good luck to her.
I'm sure she's paid an awful lot in tax in her lifetime.

Where do you get the impression she pissed her money up the wall?

Also, if you were offered something like CBB for a wad of cash would you turn it down?

If she's offered something that's all perfectly legal and fine to earn some extra cash as she's struggling then fair play. I don't see how she's a bad person for this.

Oh come on the peak of her fame was in the 70s/80s as part of a five piece group, how much money do you think she actually made?

You know her personally do you?

Analyse your own life instead of pretending to know one iota about someone else's.
