Oh give him a break! Maybe reality is hitting him today that knobs and knockers are clearly the main topic of conversation in the House, especially in smokers corner, so if he wants a fag, he has no choice but to be surrounded by it. He doesn't like it, but was just doing his best to try and fit in and be sociable.

I was shocked to hear Lionel say he doesnt swear I remember a reality show years ago which took place on a farm and I am sure Lionel swore like a trooper on that show because I couldn't believe I at the time

I found Dappy flashing his bits at the end and making sure that Jasmine more than felt what was on offer more offensive than either Lionel or Evander's comments. Evander is in his sixties and from America and does not realise it is career suicide to say anything negative with regards your personal sexual opinion. Lionel is in his eighties and from a generation where Showbusiness Stars respect professionalism.

Someone's "generation" believing something doesn't make it inherently right. It just makes them potential fossils, who's views don't move along with the times.”

I am many years younger than Lionel and I don't think a woman should talk like that either ... Her comments to,complete strangers where disgusting.. And if I had been in the house I would of told her so..when she was sober

In the conversation we saw tonight, with him and Ollie,Jasmine and Dappy he seemed very uncomfortable once again. It's not as though it's easy for him to just get up and walk away as he's handcuffed to Ollie and Ollie brought up the topic.I think he really feels he dosn't want to engage in any kind of sexual conversations at all.Conversation tonight was just about Dappy though,Jasmine involved him directly in her talk about finger banging!I don't agree with his way of thinking, but I can understand why he feels uncomfortable. It's great viewing still

I thought what she said was pretty gross too. I don't believe that having equality means that you should adopt the unsavoury habits of (some) men just because you can. I swear like a trooper at times but being crude like that, with people you've just met and on telly is vile and shows a complete lack of self respect. I'm sure if a guy had spoken like that he'd have made similar comments because it's also very ungentlemanly and he's from a generation thatwas more respectful than the current one.

Lionel was completely right in what he said in the diary room. Jasmine is an uncouth, dirty mouthed tramp. I would think a lot of people have agreed with him, especially after tonights programme.

What does that have to do with him being SEXIST? Marriage is no bar to that.

Nor is being from another generation a viable excuse for it. More sexism existing in that generation doesn't magically make it right. It simply made that time and the people from it... worse people.

I'm sure you're right. Not everyone thinks it's cool behave like a tramp.

I found his comments to be sexist and display a double standard. I'm not a fan of crude language but its the bit where he appears to expect a different standard from women that I found a bit offensive.

He couldn't state the same about how black people speak as opposed to white so why involve gender? Age is no defensive either as it wouldnt be a defence against racism or homophobia.

I dont see any malice in his comments in all fairness but it doesn't make them right.

Not sure the op fully understands the meaning of misogyny

Didn't like the way he singled out Jasmine for criticism when Dappy was also just as bad in the conversation he took offense too.

He seems a bit up himself and shallow and his stories about the famous people he knows just aren't interesting at all. A waste of a housemate.

Any housemate worthy of discussion is not a waste.

You have a point there however, I just think the housemates are going to hold back a bit now in case they upset Lionel.

Ha ha ha, now this is beyond belief, a man expecting a woman to behave like a lady means he hates women? ha ha ha ha.

Some men don't find women talking crudely about sex and swearing loudly attractive. That's their choice. It might be old fashioned but Lionel comes from an era when that would be seen as very low class and unladylike. He's not going to change now. There is no evidence that he doesn't like women or thinks they shouldn't have equal rights.

Personally swearing doesn't bother me but I did find Nappy going on about his cock quite nauseating.

1. Get a dictionary
2. Look up the word misogyny
3. Explain how Lionel has been a misogynist.

I think the point is that it's ok for men to talk that way, but not acceptable coming from ladiees, which is sexist rather than mysoginistic. Proven by the discussion they were having about the size of their dicks later in the show (apparently Laonardo de Caprio has the largest in Hollywood according to Mr Blair)

The producers will be giving them guidelines - "It's going great - Now Lionel, a bit more misogyny please. Evander, would you mind giving us some more of that marvellous homophobia? Oh, and Dappy, get your cock out, there's a good boy…"

A mysogynist and a sexist are two seperate issues.
I was responding to the mysogyny claim.
