That's quite an odious comment to make, rap is a form of poetry with quite a distinguished history, furthermore it has grown to become the most powerful and influential music on earth.

Whether you think that is good or bad is irrelevant - it is fact. The fact that you link it to council estates to denigrate people when it is practiced by every known segment of society smacks to me of much more deeper and inherent hate with you, of which I will leave open to other members to judge.

BY THE WAY - calling Dappy a rapper is like calling Robert Mugabe a Philanthropist.

No, not at the moment Kromm, but give it a few more years.....

I wasn't thinking of RJ's build and hirsuteness at the time ~ more the line of work he is famous for and his *ahem* tool of the trade. (So I've been told, anyway)

Rap is sh!t. It's not even music, it's the sh!t bit between the musical bits.

That is totally fine, that is your opinion. although you're so obviously wrong about it not being music.

well there's not a lot left to judge once you remove the entire person really !

Maybe its a generational thing, I don't get the fake accent and language, the clothes, the way he goes after women, the hat, (he seems to wear it in the bath too!) - he doesn't seem to be a very nice individual so far to be fair - can only go on what he's showing of himself - and has to be said again...........
he's coming across as a rebarbative arse

Can you suggest upon which of his qualities we should base our judgement?

I think it would be more accurate to say that rap CAN be a form of poetry, but in actuality it doesn't always work out that way. It's been bastardized in it's super-commercial form, just as a lot of other musical forms have been. At its worst rap can be performed by talentless gits and have little to no value. At its best it can be evocative, interesting and socially relevant.

To me, Dappy is literally vomit inducing. Ok maybe not vomit inducing, but certainly mini-sick inducing, or gag inducing. Basically, I swear to God that I gagged when I saw his flirting with Jasmine on the first night. I just...my God...I guess for those few seconds I pictured myself in her shoes with him sitting on the worktop behind me and...*gags*...yeah...just gross. So gross. It's his desperado behaviour, coupled with his awful dress sense and spangly body that gets to me. But mainly his desperado behaviour.

OP, you're doing a steller job of posting antagonising 1 line posts to keep your thread going by the way. *gives two thumbs up*

Fair comment - OK, I'll take those two things from the equation and judge him on how he has actually behaved since entering the house then....

He went in there saying he wanted to change peoples perception of him, which is fair enough, as I think it's fair to say he had generally been known as being a bit of an a-hole until then.

Being handcuffed to Liz Jones and one of the first 'pairs' to go in, he seemed to me to be somewhat over-awed by the situation, quite shy and reserved, but nonetheless appeared respectful towards Liz and the other 'grown-ups' in there. So far, so good.

Fast forward to the not-too-distant future and the stage in proceedings where all HM's had entered the house, drink was flowing and Linda and Jim decided to unshackle him from Liz.... oh dear. He soon reverted to type by pawing the young woman who many probably consider to be the most attractive in there, complete with an added bizarre teeth-chomping action near her right ear, which was presumably part of his 'seduction technique'.

Since then, I have yet to hear him have even one intelligent conversation (which doesn't involve bragging about the size of his schlong) and I have yet to see him actually do something that doesn't directly or indirectly involve his schlong. I have, however, seen him doing plenty of scampering around in the manner of a 16 year old boy who has just been released from a six-week stint in a Youth Offenders Institution, desperately trying to find a willing participant to help him make up for all that sexy-time he missed out on whilst incarcerated.

However, as you quite rightly point out - he is 26, not 16, which makes him appear even sadder and idiotic.

Nope, Nappy's still not changed my perception of him so far, I'm afraid. I still think the man-child is a fool, or as the 'yoof' around these parts would say using a term he would understand.... "Manz a little bean, init bruv!"

ETA: AND he runs like a girl!

Brilliant post and I wholeheartedly agree. I had very little knowledge of him so no real perceptions to be changed. I can't believe he's 26 and also has two unfortunate children. The "man's" a worrying idiot. He's behaving like a sex starve lab rat. No that's not fair to the rats!
