In 2005 the show returned after years away and the impossible became possible so would you like a feature length special next year to celebrate the shows 10th anniversary back on screen.

I wouldn't mind the anniversary of the return of the show being referenced in some way, but no, there should not, imho, be a big 10th anniversary celebration because it's the same show, not some kind of spin off series.

No.

Unless McGann wants another stab, in which case I'll take any excuse. In fact why wait, let's celebrate the 9th anniversary!

I'd love to see a tenth anniversary special with Chris, David, Matt and Peter but seeing as how much hype the 50th had I doubt they will do anything special for the 10th. The most probable thing to happen would be an Easter special featured around Gallifrey being found .

Yes, of course there should. Any excuse to get Tennant and McGann back.

Edit: And Matt, of course - I forgot he'd be gone!

Not a big fuss. It would probably fall a bit flat so soon after the big anniversary. But a reference would be nice. Or a few. Even better would be to get RTD back to write an episode. That would be tribute enough. Sadly I don't see it happening. Still. Nice to hope. I wouldn't even mind one more curtain call for Rose Tyler.

They will do something but it will most likely be subtle.

Yes lets have McGann back with a proper full length episode. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if the BBC went down this route. Specially as Night of The Doctor went down so well.

In all fairness, they would be fools to ignore the potential and the popularity of McGann.

Rose was fist broadcast on the 26th of March 2005,

The 28th is a Saturday in 2015 I think and then the following Saturday, the 4th of April would be Easter weekend ...

So I'm thinking maybe a 2-parter over those two Saturdays that marks the 10th anniversary of the new series and serves as Moffat's grand exit as Davies did with TEOT

Rather than a special I would be content with just a few references here and there to the last ten years, maybe a returning villain who hasn't been seen for a while. The Reapers anyone?
So 3008

Yes, even if it's just a standard 45 minute episode featuring the return of something/someone associated with the revival. Mickey, with Martha for example.

They could always do a special for Comic Relief with Smith alongside Capaldi's Doctor, in a story involving some Ood in 2005 London.

No thanks. I wouldn't want any other excuses to interrupt the normal flow of series. I'd just like a regular series shown in a regular slot each and every year please. #entitledfan

Just echoing previous comments really..

After the 50th an anniversary for the 10th of the revival will be a damp squib, especially after the 50th was (largely) Nu Who centric.

Some sort of reference to (or an episode dedicated to an aspect of) the first series back would be nice however.

No, because next year is the 52nd anniversary, not the 10th.
The resurrection wasn't a reboot, it was a resurrection; a direct continuation of the show which began in 1963.

That said, a little nod to 2005 in one or two episodes would be nice.

Yes, this is my feeling as well.

There's no harm having an acknowledgement to the fact it's been back ten years but not a full blown anniversary coming less than 18 months after the 50th.

The show is one series not two, much as some people would like to erase Classic Who from the show's history.

Maybe it could be a time-wimey situation - the 10th could be a celebration of old Who to counter balance that.

have to agree with this. after all the work they've done making people understand that the 2005 series was a direct continuation of 63-89 then putting a 10th anniversary label on 2015 would mark it out as having started as new then. that being said even though I wouldn't want them to call it 10th anniversary, if they did feel the need to do something special I would always welcome an excuse to get tennant back, and who knows maybe eccleston could be persuaded by then and smith too to make a big nu who doctor party. whilst also taking eccleston into a back room and bullying him to film the end of the regeneration from war doctor scene

Indeed a perfect celibration of the relaunch would be to have 13 consecutive weekly episodes, just like series one had

I don't think it needs a special episode or any references in the series itself, but I would like it if they made a special of good old Doctor Who Confidential. Have a nice long special all about the efforts/hurdles in bringing the show back and what impact its had over the years since its return. Interviews with the likes of RTD, Moffat, Eccelston, Tennant, Smith and Capaldi would be nice, especially if they were all sat around talking to each other about their experiences and how its impacted them.

That sort of thing would do me nicely. No special episodes, though. Just give me a full 13-episode series with no mid-series breaks in 2015 and I'll be a happy man!

Well, it would be interesting to see some crossover episodes to make connection between RTD and Moffat era. 2010 recap was mistake.

Maybe another story with the Autons would appease those who don't think a 10th anniversary of the rebirth is important enough to warrant an episode?

That way it can be both a tribute to "Rose" and, for those who don't want to see a 10th anniversary, a tribute to "Spearhead from Space" too

Or a tribute to "The Pandorica Opens."
