Those stupid yanks are no better with their Duck Dynasty hysteria, that just proved that freedom of speech is a myth over there, a delusion they all still suffer from

A supposed civilised country with no universal healthcare, everyone owns an assault rifle to shoot their neighbour with and most still telepathically send their daily thoughts to a magical sky wizard. Ha, what a joke

What an enlightened view... if only i could move from horrible and uncivilized America and gain such enlightenment, and you base this on what exactly? TMZ?

Can you still use the word 'gay' to mean that you're happy? Or if you said to someone 'Your certainly gay today', would that person have the right to be offended. Then, would I have the right to be offended if the said person then turned around and asked (in a snarly way) 'what was I implying' (if the said person wasn't gay that is). It's a nightmare.

The article now has a couple of polls attached to it and the closing arguement changed. The comments are kind of staggering.

Evander Holyfield told a housemate on "UK Celebrity Big Brother" that being gay is no different than being handicapped ... because a doctor can fix both ... and was immediately SCOLDED like a child by "BB" producers.

Holyfield made the comments Sunday -- during his first week in the BB house -- when reality star Luisa Zissman asked him if there were any gay boxers in the sport.

Holyfield -- a deeply religious Christian --cited the bible and said homosexuality is NOT a choice ... but rather something like a "handicap" ... something doctors can fix.

Zissman respectfully disagreed with Evander ... and it seemed the two were ready to move on with their lives ... when Evander was taken to a private room, where producers RIPPED him for expressing his beliefs.

In fact, "BB" producers called Evander's comments "inappropriate" because they "aren't the views that are held by a large section of society."

Holyfield says he understood that his comments could be considered offensive ... but never apologizes.

This whole situation reminds us why we revolted against England ... so we could have the freedom to express our religious and other beliefs ... no matter how offensive.

As bad as Evander is .. the show is being RIDICULOUS. Didn't they they learn anything from the A&E/"Duck Dynasty" debacle??

TMZ is like a steaming turd in the world of gutter press, and should be treated with the same level of contempt.

TMZ is basically the dailystar of the US (probably lesser than the dailystar), it's not to be taken seriously or given any credit whatsoever. It's exploitative trash.

I mean they frequently ask questions in polls like, "who would you rather (get with)", and then show pictures of two celebrities, etc.

The tone of the website is paralleled within the comments which are mostly younger people, or immature people attempting to be outrageous for the sake of causing a reaction or just to be cool in being outrageous, or whatever.

America is huge with a huge population.
And there are areas of america that are still consumed by the bible.
Besides most of the negative comments are from hypocrits.
Im not going to look past the first page of comments as it would make me angry.

Is this a special site for the terminally stupid?

Quote:
“Just because you don't believe in homosexuality doesn't make you a homophobe.

Being gay is mental. Not sure if doctors can cure it but it's definitely a choice. I think the gay agenda is a joke. When their own, like Cynthia Nixon says that she CHOOSES to be a woman they turned on her so fast cause they know it's true. They don't want people to know the truth and that's a fact.

I think it is a choice for most and only about 10 percent are truly born that way the other are just just trying something that they think will get them off more... yuck

Satanist have convinced everyone that homosexuality is normal so most people dont take cure serious and even ridicule it.

Good for Holyfield. I feel the same way he does..one day these butt humpers will realize they are a minority and no one cares anymore...

also too
gays should be put in prison with women
and
lesbians should be put in prison with men
That'll fix 'em!

I have known the gay community for 35 years and not one of them are "born gay" - they all admit it is a life choice.”

Welcome to your supporters, Evander. If I was him, and saw stuff like this, I would really wish I had kept my mouth shut.

"So tired of being forced to agree with the Gay agenda. Enough! I'm entitled to my own opinions.“ - every straight man, USA.

'Here come the limp wrist sissies illogically defending the spreading of buttcheeks (can that produce a kid?) and the spreading of AIDs'

Really? Just, really? And that's just two of the positive rated comments. And there are worse.

I do like the 'can that produce a kid?' line. Any girl should remember that should he ask for a BJ. He seems to feel very passionately about non-reproductive sex after all.

Way to generalise.

To be fair to the Daily Star, they have had a new editor for a little while now and they're much better than they used to be. Obviously they're still sensational but ... yeah, a tiny bit better atleast ... and their online content is generally good and up to speed.

Yeah aversion therapy like years ago, when gay people were given electric shocks while watching gay porn, so that they associated gay porn with bad feelings, therefore turning to 'the right side'.
It didn't work...

They always seem to start spouting about the truth this and the truth that, like gay people can't handle the truth about themselves.

But if there's someone who shouldn't be bringing truth and facts into this then surely it's a religious person where facts and truth pretty much puts all their beliefs into question.
It's rather funny they take that route.

Yes it always falls to pieces in the face of reality. This isn't surprising at all. Fundamentalism of any kind is dangerous but highly profitable. Playing to and leeching from the ignorant and stupid. I believe that is the main motivation for such hideous beliefs. Bible terrorism. This man is both. Drummed in from birth no doubt in an environment where the church still has too much power.
One question which I haven't seen asked in this thread. Are Gay people afforded the same freedom of speech/opinion in America?

They kept it in because they knew it would get publicity and that is great for Big Brother. But they weren't that offended by it as they would not have showed it otherwise.

Or another way of looking at it is this is why we shipped all our religious nutters to a colony half way across the globe.

I wouldn't say more accepting- rather more cowed by the gay lobby to keep their thoughts to themselves and to pay lip service to political correctness.

I feel sorry for him. He tried repeatedly to change the subject but she kept on needling him to explain his thoughts. She should have been warned as well, in my opinion as she was directly responsible for the whole situation.

He has managed to insult 2 different groups of people. Disabled people may not want to be 'fixed' and some cannot be 'fixed' by a doctor, it is insulting to say that disability is something that should be fixed or put right, as is homosexuality.

He is a very narrow minded person, I liked him, but his ignorance over both groups of people has left me disliking his beliefs.

What a strange interpretation?

She was clearly trying to get him to shutup before he put his foot any further in his mouth.

Makes me wonder if Luisa knew what response she would get when she went down the whole route of asking about gay sports people. Was it a plan by her or just something that happened?

I don't think she would have cut him off the minute he looked at her with two heads as soon as she suggested being gay was normal if that was the case. Plus how do we know she started that conversation?

I doubt it. She seemed quite surprised, and quickly tried to shut him up for his own sake. She knew what would happen to him if he kept talking and was saying 'we shouldn't be talking about this'. If she wanted to, she could have blown it up and made things worse for him, so I doubt this was some evil ploy of hers (especially as it looks like the two of them are going to go now).
