Could BB go back to C4?

I'm sure they wouldn't say no to 2m+ viewers every night?

They did say no 4 years ago.

Anything is possible.
With BOAF now on ITV and other shows like the Kumars on SKY
BB Germany jumped around channels back in the 00's

I doubt it. I just think they're to proud to admit getting rid was a mistake. Nothing they've done since has been much cop, but they won't want to take a step back. Even if BB could save C4 I doubt they'd take it.

You could probably add on at least 500,000 extra viewers who would watch it on c4.

Under Jay hunt I doubt it. She's a proud snob. Under another controller? Definitely, it would be a great publicity stunt for one.

I think that sometimes they might like to but I can never see them doing it because it's almost too embarrassing for them and it's like admitting to failure. Anyway it's way to valuble for C5 to drop it any time soon and by then it will be stale. In all honesty I'd rather have it on C5. They deserve to have it and they've changed the show from the C4 era. It's a lot more modern and I think C5 learnt from the mistakes they've made in their earlier series and they're trying to move on. Last summer was a brilliant example of that. Also I've always said that C5 are actually very good at CBB especially. I don't know why but their channel and owner is a lot more celebrity orientated and all that jazz

I agree It seems to be going in the right direction on Channel 5

Channel 5 may well be offloaded by its current owner though so who knows what would happen to it then.

2020 would be a good time in my opinion. C5 will probably have junked it by then and it'll have been 20 years since the very first series. Do a special one off series similar to the original premise.

You honestly think the new owner would dump the brand? It's by far fives biggest show.

With the present numbers it pulls, bb will be around for at least another 5year's.

Channel 4 axed BB when it was still one of their highest rated shows, the new owner could do the same easily.

It's obvious they wouldn't want it back, that would be admitting that three years on, they are yet to find a show that can fill that many hours and get the viewing figures BB was getting on 4

They messed up big time, they should have done a 10 week Ultimate Big Brother that summer and continued. There are so many things they could have done to freshen up the show and they took the easy way out and just axed one of the most popular shows they've ever had.

It would entirely depend on who bought the channel and the direction in which they wanted the channel to go.
For example if BT bought it,it could have a stronger focus on sports and the BigBrother brand of reality tv may not sit too well within the new channels line up.
Lets not forget that C4 ditched the show because it didn't sit too well within their new vision for the channel.
You may argue that it was a mistake on their behalf but nonetheless they saw fit to move forward without BigBrother.

I see your point, however it has really backfired on C4 in terms of demographics and overall channel share.

Five will acknowledge that, and I cannot see them making the mistake C4 did.

Sounds farfetched but imagine if 4 are interested, but denying interest for shock value with an announcement. The press it would generate would be very intriguing.

I agree Channel 4 messed up and they've been fighting it ever since.

I think the only way BB ends back up on 4 will be if 4 buy 5 and they merge schedules. I don't think the people responsible for axing it, if they are still there, would admit they made that mistake

I read that Jay Hunt said she wouldn't have come to C4 if they still had BB.

They probably should have picked BB. C4 seems to be sinking. Their output hasn't been good in recent years.

seeing the performance of C4 under her direction that might have not been a bad thing.
If you ever have an idea just add a cookery element and she will approve it no problem.

They'd feel a bit daft bringing it back after all that farewell business!

did/do channel 4 have a new vision ?
some might say mismanaged by someone who went on to become a car salesman
i must admit 'creative renewal' was a great buzzword at the time

edit : one point to consider ,those at channel 4 who axed big brother no longer work there
