I find Lionel's constant name dropping really annoying. I wouldn't mind if he had a decent story to go along with it, but saying things like "I know Liza Minnelli very well" and referencing Sammy Davis Jr is just pathetic. I don't think I can watch a whole series of him listing a load of big names to make himself sound remotely interesting.

If he has such close connections with these "big stars" why is he fighting for survival in the BB house, desperately picking up the pieces of his broken career? He honestly thinks he's some living legend, and it's about time he woke up to the harsh reality!

Anyway, rant over!

I've only heard him bring up Joan Collins during the task on last night's HLs. Am I not listening to him well enough?

His connection to these stars is pretty much that when they came over to do their UK shows, they needed a local opening act or something like that. That's hardly the basis for the close friendships he's implying.

He just seems desperate whenever he references these people.

Yeah, Joan Collins was another one! He is so cringeworthy. People seem to like him too, so it looks like I'm gonna have to endure weeks of this drivel...

He did warn people in his VT that he was a name dropper. There are worse things.

No I'm not sick of it at all.

The guy has many, many years in the showbiz industry and must have a fascinating life and some incredible stories to tell. I want to hear more, not less.

NO! I'm not sick of it at all. Besides I don't think he is name dropping as much as you imply. Besides, lets face it , at least the man can NAME drop more than any others in the current CBB house.

Lionel's one of the more interesting HM's they've had in a long while, oh and his career is far from being in tatters.

Boring old drip whose knows he's only interesting when dropping the names of far more successful and talented people than he.

He's interesting and has a lot of stories to tell unlike some of the nonentities in that house.

He's 82 and showbusiness has been his life for nearly 70 years, so he is bound to have some names to drop. I think it is sad that he has to, or feels the need to, do sleb reality tat at his age, particularly as he still does stage work.

I am so up for this name drop bingo idea. Might make a change from listening to sheets rustling etc.

That's quite a set to be going on with. Also I checked and he was in the line up for that Royal Variety along with Una Stubbs and Cleo Laine and others (Brucie I think too.

Jim Davidson however was not - he did the year before.

He also dropped Linda Lovelace's name, perhaps he's not the puritan he pretends to be.
