Preferring Jim to Brian Dowling...

Watching Jim, he seems like he's pretty balanced and fair minded. I'm now wondering if he was just pushing a few of Brian's diva buttons back on Hell's Kitchen for the sake of a reaction? Maybe irked that Brian was an inevitable winner for that show and seeing something unpleasant in his character - and no, not in reference to his sexuality. FWIW, I don't think Jim is homophobic.

Having endured the wooden Dowling's preseting skills for a few series, I'm actually preferring Jim...

Davison is certainly a despicable ****. Make no mistake.

Jim is coming across fairly well imo. Whatever he has done in the past, he may have changed. People do. Only time will tell.

So far, he's done nothing to warrant me disliking him.

I think you're right as it is some time since Hell's Kitchen and presumably he had his born again rehab since then.

He was homophobic on Hell's Kitchen directly to Brian but I did get the impression he enjoyed it in a winding Brian up way. He does still have the same quiet manner and calm delivery of bad news.

The jury's out with him. I'd say time will tell how much he has, if at all changed.

The Brian Dowling thing was just ott nonsense blown out of proportion to sell papers. Jim was just joking about.

I watched Hells Kitchen and liked both Jim and Brian. I did think the whole homophobia thing was ridiculously blown out of proportion. I did think it was best for Jim to leave as the whole nonsense was taking over and the cooking was being forgotten about.

I just wish when it comes to reality TV people could just watch, let the participants either come across well or otherwise and stop ruining it all by being outraged on others' behalf. Brian did quite well out of the whole JD situation.

Jim is very definite and right-wing in his views, but he's kept a lid on it so far. Mind you, PC types will never like him no matter what he does.

As much as I liked Les, I'd be petrified if he turned up in the house lol.
