Talking about popups, I was using YouTube last night and that pocksy recording set banner appeared
Now if only they could do something about that as it's ever so annoying everytime it updates a series link. (Well I assume that's why it randomly appears)
I never figured out why that appears either. Wouldn't be so bad if turning on diagnostics enabled it. Surprised you see it while viewing Youtube.

Misunderstood, would you want the popup overlayed on recordings or non live playback ? the popups only appear in the gaps between programmes, I can imagine the outcry if they were overlaid on someones favourite programme

Need the OP to clarify. A popup for The Voice appeared in the gap between Bargain Hunt and The News. Set a series recording for it with no problems.

IQ1 I have photos but it hardly seems worthwhile posting them as Gonzo doesn't have an issue. I can upload to a file share site if you want to see them.
I take it the reason I haven't seen one is because I've mostly been watching recordings or watching via the buffer, I did watch a little live BBC TV at the end of a programme to see if one popped up during a trailer but it didn't. Not to worry I'm sure I'll get to see one in the next month or two.

Never used to, it's an added new feature probably a freesat requirement

However some of the comments made by some posters are particulary inane. Complaining about the date the firmware file was created from what was presumably a previous beta version to create the production release rather says something about the poster don't you think.
You might be refering to my post here. All I was trying to say was if Freesat/ Humax can show the correct update release date on their website, why not the same via the box?

Sorry to be paticulary inane again....

It's very similiar to how files work on a PC/Laptop, create a document, zip it and send it to a friend a week or so later.
When they open it, it will have the date the file was created or even the last date that file was amended and saved and not when it was sent out.

Interesting, I wonder if you pair the box the old way it stops it happening.

They show the date the software was released, not the date it was first transmitted ota. Suppose you were away for a month and missed the ota update. What date would you expect to see ?

You can install firmware upgrades from a usb stick, indeed some have never been transmitted over the air.

Look at the Firmware upgrade for the Foxsat-hdr 1.00.20 here

http://beta.humaxonline.co.uk/downloads

If you had one and installed it would say 10 Mar 2012 if you did it right now.

Or here for the HDR1000s

http://beta.humaxonline.co.uk/downloads/hdr-1000s

The only data you need be concerned about is the specified software version.

I rather think the date is actually the date the software was compiled and packaged.

Had the flashing 'press OK for more info' message come up this evening just before Pointless came on.

I imagine they'll try to fix that pretty fast as it's an obvious and annoying bug, either with the Humax software or with how the BBC sends out the flag.

It is dire isn't it Should come with a health warning about flashing content

The non flashy version can be very handy though.

You could be right about the health warning, could it possibly contrevene regulations regarding television broadcasts?

Few things I've noticed with this update:

Whilst viewing files from the my NAS drive using the Humax Media Share client I'm unable to use the fast forward or re-wind buttons.

Live pause: on resume after a length of time there is no audio

Flickering reminder banner.

Random pop up banners of future recordings.

Good update overall though.

They did a couple of ads between programmes, for the first one the banner was all on and off flashing, then it went static for the second one.

The health aspect was why I thought they'll probably try and fix it quite quickly, although I suspect it might be down to the BBC rather than the box software.

Whoever is at fault, it's clear it needs fixing fast.

Pretty impressive. But why oh why does the epg going forwards show channel by channel and not a standard planner view of all the channels.

Why have we got and why not an option to disable it, at least one that doesn't involve taking a hammer to the TV? If some folk want it fine but for those of us who don't please provide a disable button.

Are there ANY tv platforms that allow you to disable the on-screen reminders?

I don't think they're an issue showing up between programmes, it's just that the flashing ones need sorting.

It's flashing and I neither want it or need it, flashing or otherwise. We have a Panasonic HW120 and I've yet to see any of these blithering reminders popping up on that unit, nor do I get any on my Panny Smart TV.

What are the chances of there being a software update for the original Foxsat HDR? Are Humax no longer supporting this product?

Other than maintenance updates (if something stops working) then I suspect there won't be any.

Unlikely you'll see any updates that will bring any new features, Humax usually do carry on supporting their products for any serious bug fixes if anything arises that prevents normal operation.
Edit: Must type faster

Anyone else seeing issues with stability?

I've had a few issues now of box locking up, or being unable to pause or record live tv (Even changing the channels seems to have no effect).

All was fine until the last update. I'm loving the app, but not the other new 'features' that have been added...

The being to able to pause live TV + when watching a channel from the programme start but not recording from the start when you selected record from the Programme from the planner points to a corrupt buffer file. Current solution is to reformat HD.
