Dappy is Straight, what would be the opposite of straight? Bent? Which he expressed he is not, thats very offensive apparently.
I really wonder how people cope in society, if silly things like this offend them.

If anything, his remark reveals just how sexually unadventurous he is. I'm straight, but if I could suck my own willy I'd end up with a crick in my neck.
LOL! now that has made me giggle.

Evolution will probably sort out losing the last vertebrae at some point I daresay.

Why should he have to defend his opinion, ffs we are not all robots, we dont all think the same and act the same. There was nothing offensive in what he said.
Oh yes there is. The phrase that Dappy used is a common form of abuse. If you can't see that then it's your problem. You are the one at odds with reality.

I wonder how long society whould hold together if people were stupid enough to use common terms of abuse face to face with people.

Would you go up to Gareth Thomas and call him bent and expect him to buy you a pint?

In your opinion, of course. The use of the word "bent", a derivate of "bender" could be considered derogatory in the opinions of others. I suppose Big Brother are airing on the side of caution with their reminder of the rules.
I find political correctness highly offensive; who do i complain to?

How do they know this? Is this going to be shown tonight?
Because C5 and the chav star are owned by the same person.

Would they have said anything to, for example Christopher Biggins, if he had said "Do I look like I am straight?"?
When has the word 'straight' ever been used as a term of abuse? The only abusive term I have come across is 'breeder', which I do think is rude.

Dappy seems incredibly juvenile for someone with two children.

What about when it's used by straight people?

This i agree with but he provides for his kids as was evident on the N dubz reality show a couple of years back. He is at least not a dead beat.

Surely using either term is equally implying that the two somehow must look different and can be spotted by the way they look.

PC crowd are going to love this. One can't engage in any kind if dialogue these days without it being dissected by those wishing to eradicated freedom of speech.
Indeed.

Wonder if Boy George will now be laying in to Dappy, from his Twitter... Jeez.:

Dappy's been called a pretty few not so desirable names in his time, I'll bet.

How many warnings do they get? Didn't it used to be three strikes and you're out?
Third waning was the final one (I remember this from BB5).
Some housemates had well over 3 warnings in bb5. BUT bb5 is when they seemed to introduce meaningless warnings that weren't 'formal' ones. It seems to be only formal warnings that count as 'strikes', and it's not clear there's a 3-strike rule even then.

I will be very surprised if Dappy is thrown out, no matter how many warnings he gets.

Im going to demand that C5 issue a warning to the next person to describe a hetrosexual as straight.
Its only right

The show has been ruined by morons might as well have some fun with it as it dies of offended chav disease.

Really? Well, I'm straight and I've jokingly referred to calling myself and other straight people as 'breeders' and never thought anyone would find it offensive. Nor has anyone (gay or straight) that has heard me use the term. And I wouldn't find it offensive if a gay person used the term either.

But, seeing as you call yourself an 'equal opportunities grump' and claim to be consistent, then presumably you'd also have an issue with a gay man referring to other gay men as 'queers' or a black man referring to other black men as 'n******s'. Only, in my experience, these terms uttered by gay and black people are generally seen by the self-proclaimed 'equal opportunities' crowd as non-offensive, liberating and an attempt to 'reclaim' an abusive term. Being a actual believer in equal opportunities, I say either allow everyone to use the word (my preference) or no-one. This practice of confining acceptable use of a term to a specific group whilst outlawing it elsewhere is, to my mind, both illogical and divisive.

People can dress it up all they like, it seems clear to me that it was said in a derogatory manner. Not just calling gay people "bent", which is primarily used as an insult itself, but the fact that he's adding to that dated view that gay people "look" a certain way.

Good points.
It is a freakin minefield and the contradictions on what is acceptable are ridiculous.

I had a longer post typed on wtf is acceptable terminology, but it included the words *coloured* and *black* and I knew those mere words would incite a flurry of alerts .
Dumbed down overly pc DS .

Of course they wouldn't, I bet most people on here don't act like this in real life. It's easy to disagree with something like this when you're typing on a computer. Like you said, this and many other words are used as terms of abuse and whether he meant it like that doesn't matter. Hopefully now he's been warned he won't use it again. Also, if someone is offended by a word then it's offensive.

He has two children? How did he manage that? I thought he was only about twelve, the way he looks and acts. Crikey!

As I, and many others have said in the Evander thread, it is genuinely worrying some of the replies in these threads. It goes to show how far we haven't came as a society yet.
