It’s been a tense wait for some of our couples and it’s going to be even tenser for the couples who have to wait until Friday to perform. But for 6 of our 12 couples, the wait is over as they take to the ice for the first time this series. After facing the judges however, the tension will return as they nervously await tonight’s results and hope that neither of them becomes this series’ first eliminee

Last night, our 12 contestants found out their pro partner for the series and the judging panel was revealed. Let’s remind ourselves of the 12 couples competing in this series of Twistathon On Ice

In the opening round the couples were asked to submit a suitable song choice that had been a Number 1 hit in the UK at some time during 2013. As well as this they were all asked to choose the colour scheme for themselves and their pro partners outfits. They had to choose a minimum of 3 colours and a maximum of 5 and the colour scheme had to be suited to their chosen song choices music video.

After all of our couples have skated for the first time, lines will then open, also for the very first time this series. And………this shows twist will also be announced

Connor: I loved that routine! You chose a great song that was upbeat, contained a Balkan theme which allowed you to create a story and a style to your performance. The costumes suited the choice and you sold this performance to me and you’re choice allowed me to see you’re direction. I think you could be a contender.

Well, what a way to kick off the series………….complete disagreement with the judges, but that gives them a total of 12.0 out of a possible 30.0

Connor: That was a great routine to start off the live show. It was a bit slow at times and was a little stop and start but there is promise there and I’m intrigued to see what you come up with next. I wasn’t so keen on the colour of the outfits in the sense although the song is called ‘Burn’; it has this darker feel and vibe to the piece although I suppose it is hard due to the theme and rules you had to stick too.

All very close so far but they edge ahead by just half a point with a total of 12.5

Izzie: 'I actually felt this had a lot of potential, but you really let yourself down with the lack of costumes.'

Jas’: The song choice was nice, and the colours that you chose complimented the song

For a moment I thought the judges were in agreement for a change

Not such a huge mix of scores from the judges but it does give them a total of 10.0

Outfit Colours: Black, Gold and Silver. The title of the song includes the word 'stars', so I have chosen colours that I feel both vaguely represent the night's sky and match each other fairly well, too.

Nick: The song really didn't excite me that much and the colours felt slightly unoriginal and didn't suit the song mood.

Well, no surprises there as the judges go from one extreme to the other. Obviously another vast difference of opinion this time

Wow……well I don’t think I’ve ever seen an opening show with SUCH a close leader board. It really could go any way in tonight’s results show

But the judges’ leader board means nothing more than guidance as who goes through to the next round lies solely in the hands of the public vote

LINES ARE NOW OPEN. To vote please PM me a list of the 6 couples ranked from 5 to 0 (5 being best, 0 being worst) ANYONE CAN VOTE, this includes, contestants, judges, casual viewers, ANYONE

Lines will close at 19:30 hours when I will return to deliver the results.

HOWEVER……………This rounds twist means that tonight, there will be NO bottom 2. The judges will have no say on who goes through or who gets sent home. The 5 couples with the most votes will make it through to round 3 next week when all the remaining couples merge together, whilst the couple with the least votes will leave the competition immediately

As well as this twist, I can reveal that this round, judges are not permitted to vote in the usual way. Instead, each one of our 5 judges may choose one couple to award a 5 point vote boost to . With such a tight leader board, who knows what will happen

Yeah it's ok, I knew what you meant
