I agree whole heartedly.

Year in, year out, the same people moan and bitch about how terrible it is, but they still watch.

They can't get their head around the facts, if you're watching, you're counting to their statistics. Nothing will change if their ratings are consistent.

Switch off, its the only message TV producers understand.

I didn't tell anybody what to do, I was expressing a wish and demonstrating dismay. If I wasn't enjoying a programme, I would switch it off or do something that I liked doing.

The over the top reaction to the pseudo-sex is ludicrous. It is no worse than "When Harry met Sally" or the Carry On films.

I don't mind the moaning, the only thing that truly annoys me is when people try and put a stop to it through interference, as if the universe centers on them, and what offends them, and what they think.

If people want to express themselves through complaining and how they don't like certain things, i'd be willing to listen and read through it but when there begins an attempt in forcing things to be a certain way, that's frustrating.

I want to observe everything, i don't like to see very much interference with things unless it's clear someone is going to be hurt.

I can't even explain how much i ran into this in last year's US version, i was called so many names and insulted across a number of forums all because i didn't want to put a stop to what was going on in the house through interference and preferred to observe it as it was.

That kind of thing annoys me, the whole point of Big Brother is observation. If one isn't mature enough to observe diverse and varying things that might be different, and conflict, and oppose what they think and feel... they probably aren't best suited for the role of observer and it might not be for them.

The facts are in fact rather different.

Most (at least) of us are not in the BARB panel used for viewing statistics, and so it does not make any difference at all to the viewing figures whether we watch or not.

but you can't buy your reputation back ! and I don't think she's done herself any favours so far on national tv , kind of squishing anything she'd achieved on making it onto The Apprentice ! Mud sticks and she's neck deep in the stuff so far
- time will tell for the rest of the show if she can claw her way back - but something tells me Alan Sugar is breathing a sigh of relief she didn't work for him

Films and acting (comedy/slapstick) - v - people being themselves on a reality tv show - so different

Although I'd put Jim's humour on par with carry-on definitely, the sex antics and groping of HMs they've just met after one day is in a different league ! You'd expect it of the ordinary BB - the aim is to shock and get press, get the cameras on them.....ok...but not when it's offensive and vulgar ! it just gets boring - I think we've not seen anything yet though, so brace yourselves !!

I just hope their families aren't cringing with embarrassment and don't get too much of a backlash - but that's not my problem. But it's BB and they are behaving how they want to be portrayed and clearly want to cause controversy and be talked about and all over the tabloids - it makes money afterwards for the women particularly that's for sure.

It's early days - be interesting to see how all the 'relationships' that have formed so far change or develop won't it, that's what is great about this social experiment !! and I too would like to hear more from Liz before she's booted out, which probaby won't be long, what a waste of a character if she's overlooked in the highlight show.

But moan about them, is part of the enjoyment of BB - that's the point isn't it - dissecting the lab rats behaviour while they're locked up together

- so OP should stop moaning about people moaning we all love a good moan and will continue to do so with bells on ! or they'd be threads asking why no-ones moaning

That is funny. They might be being themselves but they are acting according to the very unusual situation that they are in. The two things are very different. That said, I hope they all carry on playing up for the cameras.

The point is -
The BB Housemates are therefore behaving spontaneously, when not doing tasks.
They are not restricted to follow a storyline and reading from a script.
They are not restricted to playing one clearly defined character
The HMs on BB are being 'themselves'

...because this is reality tv isn't it !!

We will have to disagree, some of them will be doing what their PR person has told them to do, depending on any given task. That is not being spontaneous, it is acting unusually.
