When he is off for a fortnight with the Winter Olympics who will replace him?

Please be Katarina. Although they could bring back Nicky. Emma or Ruthie would only leave one skater on the panel!

I'd love Nicky to do it - I wish he was back for the whole thing, with it being the final series

I think Nicky will be covering the olympics for eurosport maybe.

I'd have thought so, he does the Euros and Worlds more often than not and usually with Chris Howarth.

It might be someone different both weeks.

Didn't this happen before and he did both jobs?

He missed 2 weeks in 2010 when in Vancouver. We had Michael Ball & Angela Rippon standing in.

I'd love Kati to come back but suspect she might have media and/or other commitments herself for Sochi.

Would ideally be someone with a skating background but sadly I won't hold my breath in that regard.

I think the best we can hope for is Krez.

Eurosport are not covering the winter Olympics this year
So Nicky might be available if needed .

I probably wasn't watching that year. Maybe I'm thinking of the first series. Krez or Nicky would be best imo.

Would be nice for one of the professionals to stand in for him. Maybe Mark Hanretty while he is injured.

He doesn't need a stand in.

I think there needs to be a skating judge as a replacement. For a show that started off for quite a few years with a majority skater panel, it shouldn't end up with only Karen judging the skating. Otherwise we may have Kyran, one of the best skaters in danger from three performance judges marking him down

All I can say, It better be a skater!

I think Sinead Kerr would be a great choice - suspect that's more wishful thinking on my part.

Don't forget how annoying Nicky actually could be - like one year marking Coleen about half a point away from Jessica or someone!

I think having a DOI pro (who's not competing obviously) would be nice and fitting, but I suspect it'll be some dreadful celeb or 2.

Come on, it's ITV. They'll wheel out some crap z-list showbiz 'name' in the vain hope of getting a modicum more column inches.

Keith Lemon. They might get Holly back to judge??! It really should be an ice skater though!

Just imagining Nicky coming back with Karen at odds with both him and Jason! The judging could be more entertaining than the skating!

Oksana Grishuk.

Not sure what her English is like, but even if she sat there mute for the entire show I'd enjoy watching her!

If her English is good, she could also be grilled on the "T&D woz robbed" theme, to get the other side of the story.

You have your wish.

Whilst commentating on the Men's Free programme for Eurosport earlier Nicky confirmed that he would be standing in for Robin on DOI whilst Robin was at the Olympics.

I'm pleased that first & foremost we have a skating judge & I always liked Nicky on the panel. He could be a bit random at times but I often liked the fact he was prepared to go against the grain. As much as I like & respect Robin he can be a bit bland - I don't think you could accuse Nicky of that.

As I stated in my previous post it was Nicky himself who said it on Eurosport. Not sure you can get a more reliable source than that.
