There are certain 'types' of women who have a far smaller margin for error on these kind of reality shows and indeed forums like this. I've even seen posters call Jasmine a slut and in almost the same breath then defend Dappy touching her up, rubbing his 3rd leg on her etc..- the justification? Oh it's because he's a 'young lad' and has 'boy needs'. Yes seriously.

For me it never seems to be a level playing field, although so far on here it's been a little milder so far than I expected.

Girls always get the worst abuse on big brother because the show is mainly watched by women and i think they tend to be more understanding/sympathetic of men rather than women. It's not necessarily jealousy more psychological in my opinion.

To be fair though it's not just women are harsh on women, straight men tend to be harsh on gay men (especially if camp) and posh contestants will be accused of being a snob many times through out a series regardless of whether they actually are or not.

Lee gets no flack because he's a guy! people believe its socially unacceptable for attractive young woman to act this way

Oh I know you are at least in part talking about some female posters harping on this more than men, but that doesn't mean it isn't sexism. Women can be sexist just as easily as men, and often against members of their own gender. Equally sexist are some of the super-lecherous "let em have a bit of fun" responses from some of the male members here as well though.

Hint: if you see the phrase (usually in reference to Dappy, but I guess Lee also) "he's just being a lad", we're certainly seeing this in action.

Hell, even in reference to the oldies on the show, you see a form of this whenever you see them being critical of the sexuality of the young women in the house specifically and people here jump-in in droves spreading all that crap about how "their generation thought that way", as if that belief system automatically excused a double standard or magically made it NOT sexist (rather than just widespread).

I notice you neglected to mention the sexism from some of the feminists posting here when they complain about Jasmine getting called names for the way she acts and then the same people call Dappy names for the way he acts. Apparently to them it is wrong to say negative things about Jasmine because she is a woman but it's fine to say negative things about Dappy because he doesn't qualify for feminist favouritism

Lee's behaving predictably like an immature lad who's constantly on heat - he's been talked about on other threads for his bedroom fickle antics with Casey - and his 'knocking one off' (which was the name of the thread on this site..where many have already been commenting on his behaviour ,as well as the girls)

Maybe we have higher expectations of the women.

Lee, Dappy, Luisa and Jasmine haven't exactly impressed me yet.
It's going to be hard to find a favourite in this series.
