I've seen a number of posts on here re Linda, a lot of them quite negative, based on - presumably? - past experience of her. Now whether that's on other TV shows, I don't know, since I know nothing about her other than that she's a Nolan, and am curious as to what it is that has generated the negative comments about her since, from what I've seen of her on CBB, she's coming across as a pretty sound and down to earth woman.

What is it that she's doing - or has done in the past - that's making people dislike her?

I dunno, I really like her. I much prefer her to most of the others, especially the sexually-frustrated lot.

Linda has proven herself to be sneaky, calculated and ruthless. We saw this when she started planting seeds about Luisa being a "bitch". Her attempt at gaining sympathy ("I was on benefits ") is so pathetic it's laughable. She's a scheming cow and I can see through her like glass.

I don't know anyhting of her from before apart from her being in the Nolans and I don't like het at all due to the way she has presented herself on BB. She is overbearing, keeps telling other people to stop talking and not to talk over her when she is the worst for doing it. She never listens or takes into account else's opinions and she is as two faced as hell.

Well that's nonsense for starters. She didn't plant seeds or anything like it, she had a direct and good-humoured conversation with Luisa about how Luisa was coming across, and Luisa responded in kind - ie. in a direct and good humoured manner. Why would you turn a perfectly reasonable conversation into something sinister and motivated by something underhand?

As for her being on benefits, she was just stating a fact and acknowledging that she's had a bit of a hard time over the last year or so. What's pathetic about that?

I am completely bemused by unfounded attempts to besmirch the character of a perfectly normal, seemingly pleasant human being.

I noticed that too! She kept telling Evander to shut up, despite the fact she was firing questions at him

And so am I ....so much so I'm now (at the moment) rooting for her to win. A lot of the negative stuff that has been posted on here has been ignorant and downright juvenile.

I really don't get it TBH. If she steps out of line or shows herself to be nasty I'll re think - at the moment I think she's been perfectly pleasant.

Knew nothing about her apart from she's a Nolan sister before the show but she seems a perfectly nice, friendly woman who isn't taking the whole thing too seriously.

Well yes, I agree. I can't see what she's done to generate dislike. She seems to have a good, dry sense of humour and she's not at all precious or pretentious. And she also comes across as very honest and matter of fact (eg. her discussion with Jim about regretting not having children which I found quite touching...)

Probably her so called reputation, its not suppose to be that good. It can be a problem for the so called celbs in a programme like this as mud sticks, the viewers read papers and magazines etc take in what is said in them and then decide it must be true she must be a bitch without giving her a chance.

For me - so far - she has done nothing nasty or bitchy and is coming over ok, I guess time will tell 'cause if she is as nasty, bitchy, calculated and ruthless as her reputation would have you believe then it will come out over the course of the show.

What reputation I've honestly never heard a bad word about her.

I liked Linda from the moment she went in, nothing showbiz about her, just a nice lady who's had a rough time of it but doesn't go searching for sympathy, just says what she has to say & as another poster said, the chat she had with Jim Davidson about her regrets about not having children was very honest & quite touching.

Neither have I, would like to hear about this alleged reputation tho I have to say, whatever is said, I'm taking her at face value & so far I really like her.

This conversation is what endeared her to me. She waa honest and open and said to jim that children should be valued yet didn't seem bitter about having none herself (unlike liz). She's just being honest about poverty being the reason for being on bb.

But what reputation? And generated by what exactly? Has she been on other TV shows where she's come across badly or are you just repeating something you heard or was reported elsewhere?

Does anyone actually have a negative fact about her that warrants her being described as schemeing and a bitch, as she has been in posts I've read on here? Or is it just random dislike of her - or the Nolans - for no solid reason, and just plain old 'I dislike her, therefore she's awful' pettiness with no actual foundation?

Couldn't agree more Bela. Seems it's two particular fm's who have an irrational dislike of Linda & an obsessive LOVE of Luisa,who are spouting utter rubbish about her. To date, I have found her to be an ordinary, likeable middle aged lady. Totally inoffensive in every way.
If this unwarranted mauling contiues..I think it will make me like her even more.

I'd like to see some of the people on here have their husband die, their sister die and go through breast cancer, and carry on working as usual she said it as part of a task as she was being asked persona questions, if she didn't mention it I'm sure people would accuse her of not being truthful, the lady can't win

I'm in the same boat as other posters here who knew next to nothing about Linda before the show, and who looked on bemused at the vicious invective directed against her by some (not many, TBF, but a 'committed' few) posters, which made me think perhaps she got off a baby-molesting charge on a technicality years back that most of us weren't aware of.

Leaving aside my belief that those charges don't stand up from what I've seen, even were they undeniably true, is that really justification for the tirades those few have launched against her?

It's odd, but, then again, there's a lot of odd people in the world. The conviction today of what are technically known as 'utter wierdos' for sending death threats and much else the way of a woman who committed the cardinal sin of campaigning for Jane Austen to be featured on our currency is testament to that.

Or perhaps I'm wrong. Perhaps there is a valid reason for the bile that us ignoramuses have still to be filled in on by these enlightened few. I noticed one poster started an 'unappreciation' thread in her honour on the launch night, which would lead one to assume she'd had previous, given her entrance was pretty unremarkable. Hopefully the OP (confuddled or some such) knows more than they've let on thus far and pops in to explain their reasoning. So, come on you holders of top-secret information, fill us in, give us the lowdown, or forever be here for people to point and laugh at.
