I was shocked at the awful ones being asked back. I only watched cos I thought it would be all the winners, or runner's up.
I shan't be watching again until the dross has been eliminated - I can't stand to watch bad skating; I don't find it at all funny.
As for the smugs; I just record it on Sky+ & watch later, so I can FF them all with the adverts, (they are in the same category; annoying, expensive & of little use).

Aside from Joe and Todd every single contestant asked back has a right to be there on merir.

I'd argue a case for Todd as well, seeing as his stumble down the tunnel is probably one of the show's iconic moments, and I can therefore make a case for Joe so that Todd doesn't stick out as too much of a spare part because there's 2 weaker skaters in the initial line-up.

Yes, there's ones not there that I'd have liked to have seen - Clare Buckfield, Chris Fountain and Jessica Taylor in particular - but I wouldn't say that there's any 'dross' amongst the rest of the cast apart from Joe and Todd.

I agree Todd is just boring and not funny. I am sure he is a lovely guy but that "joke" has been used to death!! This series it seems that instead of skating, the routines consists of lift after lift with the celeb hardly touching the ice (e.g.. Bonny). Bonny was criticised for this during her first series on DOI but she is back and so is the constant lifting with ballet poses!!! Personally I find Bonny irritating with the constant stage school smile. Gushing over her injured partner (I will win for you!) and then gushing over her new partner, so insincere!!! Typical Showbusiness!!!!

The advert breaks are getting longer and longer and it is often the same product repeated over and over again. One skating routine and ten minutes of adverts! No wonder the viewer stopped watching the programme.

The producers do not know what their audience wants, simple. Pamela Anderson, fake romances, horrendous coupling of Sylvanne and Jorge etc etc....... Shame, I used to really like Dancing on Ice!

They think, or hope, that it may get them jobs, and of course, it's easy money as they get paid regardless of their incompetence. (Bit like an MP I suppose.)

Well, you said it!

You can only live on past glories for so long ... and then it all becomes meaningless.

Can't argue with that reasoning.

I doubt Joe is short of work - indeed as soon as he was voted out of the show he nabbed a part in Spamalot (having done a brief stint in the show last year). In fact last year he appeared in at least 5 different shows! DOI probably is fairly easy money though.

Spamalot may go back on tour too - its been a good job for many of them - Bonnie and Hayley have both played the Lady of the Lake. Todd played Patsy for ages....

ITV seems to be messing something else up too. Youtubes of shows 1 and 2 uploaded by fans, seem to be being taken down by people claiming copyright, or made unavailable in the UK pretty soon after they go up. ITV has put up its own youtubes, but its putting them up for only half the contestants and its cutting the routines.

I would hope they may want to put a video out, but that won't show 60 routines, or whatever number it is, and the ones they have put up include those you would want for a video.

They seem to be missing the point. As the smarter, bigger, West End shows have realised, if you have something good it pays to let people put it up to let more people see it. If the product is good, it makes no sense to hide it. If there are real copyright issues, and you are going to put out your own youtubes, you can't do it for half the contestants. Either some people will be completely invisible, or no one will be able to see all leading contestant's routines. If you are going to do that, do it properly, like SCD, and put everyone's routines up.

What they do on the show bares no relation to what happens in Ice Dancing at the Olympics. No flying or props and T&D know they are creating illusions. Bonnie should be better with the right choreography but isn't really about to shine. This last series is all aimed at T&D celebrating 30 anniversy of winning Olympic Gold and whatever they want to do, such as a tour based on that.
