Our passing accuracy must be at an all time low.

Easily our worst performance of the season. Just dreadful.

Thank god that is over and we didn't let any more goals in. We managed one shot on target all game which has to be a new record for us.

Luckily for us Utd seemed content with their lead and didn't press us in the second half otherwise could have been a real tanking.

Our yoyo performances continue and I'm hopeful now that Pochettino will use these last few games of the season to start blooding more of the youngsters as subs eg Onomah, Winks and Kyle Walker Peters.

We had nothing going forward today as there is always too big a gap between Kane and the players supporting him.

The defence is wide open against decent teams. Chadli, Townsend and Lamela are a waste of space.

They are a waste of space going forward too. Never ever seen such a brainless group of players wearing Spurs shirts.

Well I hope Poch makes the players sit through a re-run of the first half to re-live the horror story. We have a few good games and results then all of a sudden forget everything and look like a team who doesn't have a clue. It wasn't just the lack of pressing and giving away yards of space, it was also the unforced errors and piss poor passing that was a big disappointment. All this in a game which we should really of been up for and where the result mattered. Roy Hodgson (watching) must of been really impressed with the Spurs English guys (not)!

I've actually got quite a strong niggly feeling that this isn't going to happen this season. If we're going to promote anyone from the Academy, I think it's going to be in pre-season for next season.

Personally, I'd love to see some of the youngsters get a run out this season because I think it'll certainly shake things up and could even give the team a bit of a bump to get back on track but I think while there's an outside chance of the top 4, and at the moment, it's only an outside chance due to the teams above us having to play each other, I think we'll continue to persevere with the squad we have.

I suppose the one thing we can at least hope for is that that performance really was as bad as it's going to get and we can't get any worse.

I'd certainly make them watch the video again - multiple times as well. Apart from having Southampton and City back to back, we've got a good run-in so we certainly have the potential for a strong finish, although doing that will almost certainly guarantee Europa League football again next season which we could probably do without at least for one year.

I don't think the solution is just to throw in more youngsters. in fact, I think yesterday's was (at least in part) down to us playing with too many, because I'm struggling to think of a more naive performance in a very long time. no-one exactly covered themselves in glory but Mason and Bentaleb were shocking both individually and as a partnership, and offered precisely zero protection for the defence. Dier had a really bad day, although I don't think he was helped by what was ahead of him, Rose's performance was almost a joke, and Walker's was nothing short of a disgrace. Townsend was also terrible (although that tends to be the case now more often than not) and gave Walker no protection either. I don't think Kane should get off with the defence of not having any support either, to be honest. I get that he scores a lot of goals, but I also think he's guilty of being extremely selfish a lot of the time. no-one's really pointing out at the moment, but I guarantee once the goals dry up a bit (and they do for everyone not named Messi or Ronaldo) it'll become glaringly apparent if it hasn't been addressed by then.

it's all well and good giving the youngsters a go, but I do think it's counter-productive to just stubbornly keep playing them every single week no matter what. there's no reason, for instance, for Townsend to keep getting picked ahead of Dembele at the moment. I get that Dembele wasn't great against West Ham, but prior to that he'd actually been in very good form for us, which is far from the case with Townsend. it's also meant that we've persisted with Eriksen in the middle when he was more effective when starting out wide. I also can't see that Mason and Bentaleb are good enough to be automatic starters every week ahead of Stambouli and/or Capoue. I personally think Mason in particular would benefit from sitting out every now and again because I don't see any obvious signs that he is learning in his role. at this point, all I see is a slightly faster Scott Parker....great at running around breaking up play etc and picking up yellow cards, but he's not even average in possession, and the game can completely pass him by at times, yesterday's being a perfect case in point.

I'm not against putting faith in our youngsters per se, but I think it's kinda naive to think we can break into the Top 4 relying almost exclusively on them. my overriding thought yesterday was men against boys, but that's literally what it was. Dier and Bentaleb are 20, Kane is 21, Eriksen, Townsend, and Mason are 23, Rose and Walker are 24, and Chadli is 25. they're all still learning (or are at least supposed to be), and are way less experienced than what we're up against. I personally think we've gone a bit too far in the direction of youth, and at this business end of the season it will show if we don't correct it.

I think that one of the issues we have with playing so many of the younger players is that they arent fully developed yet body wise either. At times they are so lightweight and easily pushed off the ball. I would like to see some strength training over the Summer for the likes of Mason, Bentaleb and Lamela, probably a few others too. Dont want to to go too far the other way and compromise their speed or agility too much, but they definitely need to beef up a little imo.

Dier's inexperience was exposed but then he should of had more protection from those in front. United simply just passed the ball past Walker, Mason, Bentaleb and Rose.as if they weren't there.

Don't forget 2nd leg of FA Youth Cup SemiFinal against Chelsea tonight. We are 2-0 up from the first leg. Unfortunately, for those in the UK, ITV4 in their wisdom seem to have decided not to show the 2nd leg, preferring to show snooker instead! Chelsea TV is covering it, naturally but both commentary and action will be heavily oriented towards their own side.

In the meantime, here's an interview with our young RB, Kyle Walker-Peters:

U18's getting a bit of a battering at the moment unfortunately - Chelsea now leading 4-3 on aggregate.

As we know scorelines only give the result and although we lost, from what I've read it was far from a battering. Their more experienced side simply took their chances better. Could easily have been 5-5 as we had two chances in injury time which on another night may have gone in.

Chelsea resorted to wasting time and feigning injuries, wonder where they learned that?

Anyway, over both legs our lads did themselves proud and will at least have the satisfaction that more of them will play premier league football than their Chelsea counterparts.

A shame to go out, but we did extremely well to win the first leg, and to go out 5-4 on aggregate is no embarrassment. The Chelsea youth team have been in six of the last eight finals, including this one, winning three of them including last year's. So we can be proud of running them so close.

It was actually live on Chelsea TV funnily enough, but I couldn't get to watch it.

Certainly no shame in losing at all.

Kane, Walker and Townsend all called up by Woy. Kane I understand but the other two??? Neither have done anything to warrant being called up. Wot is Woy thinking?

Yes I was surprised they had been included too. Although Rose has his faults I do think he is a bit hard done by having Luke Shaw chosen ahead of him, this time at least anyway.

Congratulations to Harry, well deserved.

Hodgson's just shown how stuck in his ways he is with that squad. He just picks the same players, no matter of their form, and unless it's impossible for him not to pick you, like Kane, you're not getting a look in.

I'd be mightily peeved if I was Rose, arguably Mason and Dier too. When you look at the rest of the squad, they deserve to be there.

Just seen the news. Pleased for Harry but you can certainly add me to the chorus of "Huh?" at Townsend's call up. Walker is .. well .. meh

left to me, none of our players except Kane would've made the squad. Dier isn't ready for the full squad yet, neither Walker or Townsend should be anywhere near on current form, and I don't believe either Rose or Mason are good enough.

After Roy had sat through the performance of the Utd game, our chaps should think themselves lucky to be in the England squad. Rose's exclusion is his own fault as he had the chance to show his capabilities but was totally outclassed. Shaw and Baines have been poor this season but Rose was equally pants on the day he was meant to impress.

I don't know what the general consensus on Rose has been in here this season as you know I don't come in here much any more. For me, he's been one of our best players, and has improved immensely. He barely has any cover in front of him, and I think he has done very well this season.

I also thought he was our best player against United, and couldn't be faulted for any of the goals. I don't get the idea that that one game is what Hodgson should judge him on? He's meant to impress across every game, and, on the whole, he has done that for me. Neither Shaw or Baines have been better than him this season, and that is what it should be judged on, not just one game.

I believe Rose has improved from last season, but he's still nowhere NEAR as good as he thinks he is. he and Walker really do both seem to get a massive chip on their shoulder whenever there's any criticism aimed their way, as though they should be above being criticised no matter how valid, and I think that's one of the main reasons they've not developed as much as they could or should have done. I can't say with any great certainty how he has fared compared to all the other eligible English left-backs this season, but I do know that I'd be sorely underwhelmed if I actually supported England and Rose was (one of) the best available left-back(s)

I see that massive bell-end Sherwood is yet again claiming all the credit for Kane. he'll no doubt soon be claiming he was the one that introduced Kane's parents to each other, the jumped-up wally.

I think Rose has been one of the better defenders too, but I think it is worth moving him further forward on the left, where he began his career, and put Davies in at left back.

The wider players in the midfield we are playing contribute little, and Rose would do more than any of them I think.
