Don't you just know that Lennon is going to be the last to leave. He was the only player where there was firm interest going into this transfer window.
I read last night that Levy has actually travelled abroad, so I hope that is an indication of some serious negotiating going on somewhere and not a visit to the U.S. for the MLS game.
Some of the blogs are claiming we're going to be starting negotiations this week with Everton over McCarthy. If that's true then I guess Lennon could certainly be involved in the deal in some fashion - either player plus cash or we'll smooth the way to another loan agreement with option to buy at the end of it.
But I agree, I can certainly see it going right down to the wire before he's finally out of the door.
There's new speculation we could be looking at Ashley Young, but at his age I don't think he really fits in with the current approach of signing younger players.
Would be an intruiging proposition though I suppose, especially consider he did seem to find a bit of form again last season.

not that horrible a first half actually. created some good chances and the MLS goalie made some top class saves from Kane. Still need a bit of a spark behind Kane I guess but not all that bad so far.
As it was a friendly I'm not reading too much into the result. Trippier definitely looks like an upgrade. I wonder if playing Dier in midfield was just to give him a game whilst Poch looked at potential pairings with our new CBs or if there are some thoughts of using him further forward. One things for sure is that we are still reliant on Kane to get our goals. We simply have to bring in more striking options. At least one of those needs to be top notch, which means splashing a decent bit of cash and then we can consider an up and coming youngster.
