Personally, I'm sad to see him go because he always came across as he really wanted to make it work for us. Certainly wish him well back in Spain and hope he finds his form again.”

He will go down as the most likeable player of all our failures!

Watch him go score a shed load now is Spain!

As it stands our squad is now down to 16 senior players not counting Lennon / Adebayor.
All the remainder are classed as under 21s by virtue of being 21 years or younger on 1st Jan.
Fazio is our oldest outfield player at 28 yrs and 4 months.

Pochettino is terrible and hopefully will get the boot at 5pm tomorrow. He has all the charisma of a wet dishcloth and i cant for a moment imagine he inspires the players. Harry Redknapp is available and would have him back, we could get him a Segway for training sessions. Failing that Garry Monk has impressed me, a bit quiet but seems to have a very good grasp of tactics. This is in no way because i have 16/1 on Pochy being the first to get the chop this year.

Weird that, isn't it ?. Strictly from a statistical point of view, he's been a massive failure but, for some reason, that's endeared him to the fans and he's remained very popular.

But I agree, I think he'll find his form again in spain and he'll start banging them in again.

Shame that our U21 Premier League squad is inevitably going to get depleted as more go out on loan, as we would of had a real chance of winning this year. Still a chance for the U18s to step up and fill the gaps.”

Mark Warburton (Rangers boss) is a Spurs fan and Rangers played you preseason so a loan agreement was always being touted. Nathan Oduwa looks a good player.

It's rubbish when we're just sort of doing alright and finishing fifth is just the worst. I hate having to be realistic. I want things to be nice and clear so if we're not winning the league then I'd prefer a nice mid-table position so I can have a proper whinge without having to be mealy mouthed about it.

just seen a tweet from OL Lyon's President suggesting that the deal is not yet complete because they've received a bid for N'Jie from a bigger Club. Now, if that's true, odds on it'll be either Cheatski or the Goons - cue another Willian meltdown!

that doesn't sound too good, although I suppose we're still potentially circling around Berahino as an alternative. and i don't think he'd necessarily be a step down either as he's already proven - to a degree - at premiership level.

Every complete tool in the world is on twitter, its the forum for those who have too much to say without any intellect, experience, insight etc beloved of footballers.

Not that every user is an oxygen thief but ALL oxygen thief's are on twitter.

You could say the same about Internet forums but here we are. There is just as much ill-informed comment on this site so don't throw stones if you live in a glass house.

According to some reports Berahino is already in train as the next transfer after N'Jie (if that one doesn't hit the buffers). He already has had a part medical and wants to join us after now accepting that none of the top four are interested.

I suppose that's good and bad really - if he has a good season with us, assuming he joins, and one of the top four start sniffing around then he could end up forcing a move.

Just seen this as well, Hugo has officially been named permanent team captain with Kane and Vertonghen vice captains. I can't help but to think that naming Kane as official joint vice captain is a bit of a crowd pleasing move, but either way, i'm very happy that Hugo is the skipper.

Dunno why Vertonghen keeps getting overlooked for the main gig. I love Lloris, but I do prefer an outfield captain.

I actually do agree there pee. At least with an outfield player they can essentially "lead" and cover the whole field.

Anyway, N'Jie is confirmed, subject, apparently, to a work permit AND international clearance.

seems unusual to announce without those two things wrapped up but i assume the club don't see any problems

Team is in - Lloris starts, which is good. Bentaleb and Lamela dropped

Lloris (c), Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies; Dier, Mason; Chadli, Dembele, Eriksen; Kane

i have a prejudice against twitter, certain things ok, all too often it seems to be a vehicle for nastiness and spite from complete tools, huge difference between it and DS forums, imdb not so much. That's my anti-twitter rant after a bottle of wine though!!

Walker back to form: made to look silly, booked, gives away free kick in key area: paging Trippy!

Instant tactical change from Mark Hughes after the goal - so open now.

FFS get Walker off. Another stray pass another chance for Stoke.

Really need to get Trippier in to the side sooner rather than later i think.

That said, a well deserved lead i think. Had a mate on the phone for most of the first half so wasn't paying a lot of attention but we looked pretty decent. Hopefully we won't let them off the hook in the second half.
