Well that turned around pretty sharpish unfortunately !

Would have made things interesting if Watford could have held on, although looking at the table, if we can get a win tomorrow, we'll be 5 ahead of United in 5th and only two behind Leicester in 2nd and we play them after Everton.

Chelsea beating Palace is handy. Palace could have moved to within a point of us with a win.

Team is in .. Carroll retains his place

Lloris, Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies; Carroll, Dier; Eriksen, Alli, Lamela; Kane

Subs: Vorm, Rose, Trippier, Bentaleb, Chadli, Onomah, Son

Disappointed to see Trippier back on the bench but hey ho.

Indeed.

We need to get a goal back quickly here.

We look okay but I'd still take the two points.

got to love Eriksen swooning around the pitch today, doing his very best to not get his kit dirty

Jim Beglin makes a good point - this will certainly be a good test of any perceived title credentials if we can dig out a win when it matters. City and Ars*nal have both done that this weekend

Turning into a decent strike partnership, Alli and Alderweireld.

No more than we deserved. 62% of the first half possession apparently.

If we can continue in the same vein in the second half, no reason why we can't get the win.

Like others I had been beginning to think this wasn't going to be our day. Everton fans must have been thinking HTF are we winning this game!

Don't think we've done much wrong in that half, we've dominated them mostly and created a number of openings but have been unlucky or fannied a bit too much. They will defend for their lives next half and the longer it goes without us scoring the more defenders Martinez will put on and the more time they will start wasting. An early second goal by us will force them to push forward and we then need to be ready to take advantage.

We dicked all over them pretty much from start to finish. Even 1-1 is a massive injustice, nevermind if it had stayed 1-0. Considering Everton's strength is the way they keep the ball and move it around, we really should go on and win this properly, seeing as we've completely stopped them from playing so far.

Credit to Everton for their second half, did the opposite of what I expected and went all out attack. We seemed to tire a lot from about 65mins, not surprising with all the ball chasing we were doing. A lot of that though was caused by our own inability to keep it, we gave away so much cheap possession, especially in midfield and they moved the ball much quicker.

I don't think we created one clear chance in the second half and Hugo had to bale us out with a couple of worldies. Still one point is better than none but we have to work on keeping possession a lot more and a lot better when we`re under the cosh.

I'd have taken a point before the game, but after that first half it definitely feels like points dropped, even though we were never ahead.

Eriksen needs to be dropped for a bit now. his effort today was a disgrace.

Pretty much exactly the game and result expected.

Thought it was quite brave to pick Carroll. Right back must have been a very close call.

Disappointing Vertoghen turned his back on Lennon's shot. I'd give 'arry *a knock* for the Saturday cup.

Still makes the next league game very tasty though, considering Leicester are realistically the side we should be looking to overhaul if we're going to finish in the top 4.

A win and we'd be on 39 points, one behind them. Assuming Ars*nal and City win their next games, it would 45, 42, 40 and us on 39 so we'd still be in a strong position.

Although Ars*nal's next game is against Liverpool, so if that goes pear shaped, it would be 42, 42, 40 and 39 and it would be anyone's game then
