How many episodes is Brooker doing, anyone know ?

Digiguide has been useless lately for how many parts in a series. And yet the price has gone up from £9.99/yr to £14.99/yr.

Terrible as it might be (I didn't watch) I suspect it won't get anywhere near the same amount of attention as Benefits Street did and will likely continue to do.

21:30 - Hurricanes and Heatwaves: The Highs and Lows of British Weather: 529k (2.4%)
22:30 - Horizon: Global Weirding: 548k (4.3%)

All-day shares of 1.7% and 1.1% for those two part-time channels respectively. E4 managed 2.4% (inc +1), assisted by that fantastic premiere rating for The Tomorrow People (1.37m/5.7% inc +1).

I'm not sure if its part of the act/character (if it is one) but I struggle through what are undoubtedly good lines and pastiche because Brooker is a smug pain in the arse.

Great first figure. The only way is down now though. It was terrible last night. I can see it ending up with similar ratings to The Royal Bodyguard.

If it wasn't BOAF, I do wonder what viewers would really think. The name and brand is what is working for the sitcom. If we're really, really honest, what would we think of it if it was brand new and unheard of? Hyperthetical I know, but is it really as good as we all think it is?

Is this classed as the third series or the second half of the second series because it wasn't all that long ago that it was last on.

Next few minutes are absolutely critical tor Itv. Lots riding on BOAF remaining 6.5million+. The bad reviews for last nights poor episode won't help matters going forward for the BBC originated sitcom.

Eastenders won yesterday with 7.3million. Looks like BOAF plummetted last night in the ratings. Good news for the BBC who could see q full series of it wouldn't work based on the substandard scripts offered.

Of course if Birds had been on BBC 1 Samuel would be ECSTATIC it got 6.9 million. That is a great figure for any sitcom no matter what channel its on. It'll timeshift 1 million anyway.

I predicted a drop and I was right.

If EastEnders was top with that what happened to Birds? And actually what happened to EastEnders!?!

BOAF fell a million viewers yesterday. Expect further ratings erosion over the next few weeks after the bad feedback yesterdays episode got. It's heading downhill. A good pass by the BBC, they were smelling a turkey with this one.

There is certainly a discussion to be had about this. The 1st episode was slow to start and then very good but I did not like the second much. There is no doubt BOAF and SOAH are depending on their name and nostalgia to get people to watch in the first place. Now whether that works as one offs which BBC seem to think or can sustain a series as ITV are trying is open to question. This BOAF series is really the tryout and its fascinating to see what happens.

BOAF has made such a strong start that it has room to fall and still be considered a success but what the ratings are for episodes 7 and 8 will tell us a lot more than what has happened so far.

I am sure the BBC will be watching very closely before they decide what to do with SOAH.
