Tuesday it will be below 6 million though as Emmerdale as a fairly big episode in an hour so a 30mins clash again.

All soaps were lower yesterday then they have been. Even Doctors was 1.8m on Thursday but 1.6 yesterday.

BBC3 EastEnders always seems to be below 400k but I guess that's because people are out and doing things.”

Yes I think when some on this thread and elsewhere indicate they are "worried" about Eastenders I am not always sure whether they have the shows best interests at heart. Apologies if Im wrong.

Anyway with a 20% bigger set on the way the BBC don't seem to have any worries at all.

I don't really understand why it was brought back. It was faring dismally on BBC One by the time it was axed in 2006. Under 2.5m viewers, I think.

If you force yourself to watch it, you start believing you like it. Its just not that good, and Shane Ritchie makes it worse.

There really are worse things on TV than this. It is what it is.

I've looked at the billing for Tuesday's Emmerdale and it doesn't look like a big episode to me. But as ever with an Emmerdale/Eastenders clash, whoever gets the 30 minute head-start wins.

It wouldn't surprise me if ITV were a bit torn about what to do last Wednesday: drop Emmerdale so they could run an hour-long against EastEnders, or drop Coronation St so they could run an episode against Midwife.

"Rock, Paper, Scissors", or toss of a coin?

Um no. If I don't like something then I won't watch it simple.

I think it's time for a tv award ceremony for all that is average on tv, and when I say average I mean shows which are at a consistent quality and consistently perform in the ratings. I was watching the ntas the other night and it occurred to me nick knowles would never win an award, I believe he deserves a mention, as he has had many successes, yes under the lottery brand, but this does not mean hit, I mention two words... Tess Daley! What other presenter can you say has had as many light entertainment successes over the last five years, maybe this thread can launch the tv so so awards!

Not this week

EastEnders is in good shape. The writing is better,The Character interaction is better.
The Characters that were ruined (I.E Sharon) has improved.
More people feature in the episodes and the block storytelling seems to have gone.
The Humour is wrapped in alongside the drama too.

At present the storylines are Newmans but with Changes by DTC.
I think it will be end of March/EastEnders before we see only DTC storylines playing out.

The slow motion is annoying and that man talking is annoying too.
It's BBC1'a version of Splash (Tho Splash has nice men in Trunks )

It's a fairly strong episode with Cain becoming violent to Charity and some of storylines that have been playing out climaxing/carrying on.

EastEnders also looking strong next week with Timothy West making his Debut on Monday and then Annette Badland on Friday with a fairly strong week through out .

I think Reflex is poor but you are right that there are worse things than it on TV and a lot of them are on ITV but I dont think we are allowed to mention that.

Such a spoilsport Iain, telling us the ratings results before they happen.

CS will still be top soap this year, but I think EE will close the gap and hit 8 million as the scripts are improving and the teen obsession seems to have ended. Emmerdale's thoughts of being the second soap won't materialise, it will probably stay in the 6.5-7 million region, but has always been the look at me soap and until Farm was dropped from the title was actually fifth in the pecking order.

First singer on TV far too drawn out-far too much meaningless waffle. Makes me wonder just how many people actually went for audition-the closing date was ridiculously early last year.

For 6pm reflex is fine, sat night teatime show, some parts work some aren't so great, but it doesn't matter as it's almost finished as you've thought it!

Surely most of what's on screen now is DTC's work? The Carter family are at the centre of the show and were created by DTC.

Last year some people were still claiming it was Bryan Kirkwood's work over a year after he left. That would be like saying we're still seeing Phil Collinson's work on Coronation Street.

Some is but not all.
The Lauren/Jake storyline was Newmans for example.
DTC is playing them out as fast as he can. At present your seeing some of his work but some of Newmans too.

DTC ordered re-writes and re filmed loads of stuff.

And nothings changed - I believe it was the same with the first singer on The Voice tonight.

I can believe that because it seemed to be rushed through. If DTC was responsible for this weeks dog meat story though mmmmm.

The target for the Voice tonight is 6.7million which would put it up year-on-year. Hopefully it can continue to stay strong around the 7million mark. I wouldn't expect 8-9m tonight, 7m or so is where it'll be which is what the Beeb are expecting

You expect it to drop by a further 1 million on last week?
