The Voice did well to hit its target then of either remaining stable or increasing and it did the latter. Samuel's target was just a precation (6.7m). However we now this is the most intersting part, I.m intersted to see whether it falls as much during the battle rounds and Live shows - the drop off from the 1st episode it telling though.

Splash stable from last week, not too much drop off but not really the nicest figure when a family film last week at an earlier time got the same rating.

I know - when I saw that it was on last night I thought it would rate poorly given that it must be the 4th showing of that episode, but there's something about the programme which makes people want to watch it time after time. I suppose it's televisual comfort food and the 10pm slot is perfect for people coming home after a meal or something

Do you have the rating for Nanny Mcphee at 4.10pm on ITV? Thanks in advance.

Who Dares Wins had 5.03m according to UK TV Ratings, so MBB didn't beat The Voice and it didn't beat Who Dares Wins. So how does MBB beat most of BBC1's schedule?

If it means all-day schedule. well of course everything in daytime and after 10.30pm was below 4.72m so that's a ridiculous thing to tweet. You might as well tweet that Reflex beat most of BBC1's schedule as no doubt there were more BBC1 Saturday programmes below it in the ratings that there were above it.

But it just means they have a garunteed rating whenever they put a MBB out in the schedule. Before hand they know they are going to get a good rating. This will be the programme which fills the 10pm slot on BBC1 ikn the Summer now.

Wonderful rating for the Voice, up about half a million from last week and over a million from last year. The BBC has played a blinder moving it to January and refreshing the panel. It is actually currently rating on a par with what the much more hyped XF auditions shows were doing last year. And it has completely transformed Q1 Saturdays for BBC1 into a very dominant night. I can guarantee it will return next year as there is plenty of room for it to fall when the post-blind stages start. The Voice has killed off Splash and I bet it'll strangle Rising Star at birth next year.

It is getting the ratings it deserve. This will surely be its final series, beaten 2 to 1 by The Voice and rating at 3.5m in January is terrible for it.

Rather subtle post for you Samuel.

Although you say it has plenty of room to fall, don't forget it fell pretty quickly last time from highs of 8m to 4-5m.

It amazes me that so many people cannot understand when a program has massive repeatable value. There is almost a suggestion that people are somehow forced to watch it every time its on. My mum has the whole series on dvd and has rewatched recently and still watched again last night.

It only fell to 4-5m in a random Friday slot against the soaps. On Saturdays, the lowest it went to last year was 5.5m and that was in the summer around BGT. Without BGT this year and with it airing in the winter/early-spring, it wont fall that low. Let's suppose one or two episodes to drop to 5.5m, that would still be higher than whatever else BBC One has anyway. With 6 episodes of the Voice [auditions stage] on course to rate at 7m+ and then the remainder probably going to be 6m+, the Voice is a shoe-in for a renewal. It is absolutely huge for the BBC considering how it has transformed their Saturday nights at this time of the year and helping them crush the competition. The BBCs weekend schedule is a very dominant one right now, that's due to the Voice, CTM and Musketeers.

Looking forward to seeing how Reflex did. I wonder if it will come back after it's three week hiatus

Nice number for The Voice. Good to see a rise!

Meanwhile, Dads Army and CBB were the highest raters outside the two main channels

UK TV Ratings ‏@TVRatingsUK 24m
Away from BBC1 and ITV, Dad's Army was most watched with 2.02m/9.2%, closely followed by #CelebrityBigBrother with 2.01m/9.6%.

Yet another impressive rating for CBB for a Saturday. 2nd highest of the series.

Even Take Me Out is tanking, only 3.6m this week and that was without clashing against the Voice. Next week it partly clashes against the Voice.

2.7million yesterday. Great move by the BBC to air it earlier away from primetime. The BBC are always quick to move ratings-failures away from primetime which could potentially damage their share. Other channels like Itv would've just stuck with Reflex in the same timeslot and accepted the low ratings, but BBC1 dont have that philosophy. Always strive for high ratings.

I can't wait to see what ITV come up with next year to crush The Voice

The Voice will probably stabilise around the 7.5 to 8m mark until the battle rounds. The first episode is still the highest rating this season so little momentum has been built. It would struggle against decent competition.

It'll be nothing. They'll be relying so much on Rising Star, imagine if it bombs. It'll completely screw up their weekend schedules early next year. Considering the market is already almost saturated of music talent shows, another one with a pretty underwhelming gimmick isnt going to make waves here imo. Itv havent had a hit entertainment format for 7 years since BGT launched, there's no reason to believe based on their poor track record for them to come up with one next year which would "crush" the Voice. There's a 90pct chance they wont.

That Mrs Brown's Boys stat is crazy. 5 showings ans repeat ratings are still strong.

And 2.7m for Reflex. Ouch!

BBC are right to get rid of it and put it on hiatus. I have a feeling it will be a permanent hiatus...

A 15 minute earlier start must make all the difference then

So The X Factor didn't underperform then?
