Since when have I said Splash is superior to TVUK. The Voice is superior to Splash, that obvious, but for me I enjoy TXF more than TVUK.

The Voice UK remained steady with a slight increase on last week; seemingly from Splash! which declined by a similar level. I think it's time for it to leave Quarter One Saturday but I'm not sure if the axe is the right answer considering it could do a job in Quarter Three - depending on Tom Stanley's schedule.

Take Me Out's dip surprises me slightly. As much as I like the show the repeat figure for Mrs. Brown's Boys depresses me. It just encourages laziness from BBC One.

Seriously though, the whole commissioning process seems to be very hit and miss, with some stinkers getting the green light, whilst others with some promise given time (yes, I am still sore that By Any Means seems to have died) fall by the wayside.

God, it's only 11am and this thread is already a tiring read, it doesn't help when one person gets in 9 or 10 posts in 45 minutes.

The Voice recovering a bit in its third week as I predicted, it's just the usual pattern for these shows to dip in week 2. Splash pretty steady from last week as well but those figures aren't good enough really.

At this point I'd put it on Saturdays at 7pm. Sundays are tough anyway and just leads to them spreading out the talent show fatigue. If it does well internationally this year then the "new Voice" claims will build up even more so they could play it up as a bit of a ratings battle like The Voice did with BGT back in 2012.

Ultimately Rising Star could be a liability even if it is a moderate success (by boring viewers of talent shows) so they might as well split the talent show audience in one slot rather than give them two shows to watch.

Dynamo (for those that like this show on Watch)
Reflex (for those of you that like The Cube)
The Voice UK (mega expensive bought in format for those of you that like X Factor)
Lottery (for those that like to gamble and those that enjoy 'The Rich List' - another tried and tested format)
Casualty (why not? It's a safe bet soap)
Mrs Browns Boys (for those that enjoy a repeat and missed the previous 4 airings)

But it gets the ratings [besides Reflex]. So obviously viewers are enjoying those programmes bbc1 are airing. If my calculations are correct, BBC1 had almost twice as many viewers than Itv in peak yesterday.

good for the voice but the key is to watch after the blind auditions end. Also, I still stick by my prediction that all three dramas tonight (ctm, musketeers, selfridge) will see some drop tonight.

It will be back in 3 weeks. The continuity announcer last night said after Reflex "And Reflex will return in 3 weeks as we make way for Six Nations Rugby".

I don't think D.M.N was arguing the case for or against the survival of Splash. He was just countering Samuels argument that it is collapsing. I think it's fair to say it is severely underperforming but it hasn't totally collapsed because its audience are strangely, sticking with it! Bless 'em.

By Any Means should have been put on a weeknight. They could have replaced the Monday New Tricks repeat with By Any Means and stuck the New Tricks repeats on Sundays. I agree, By Any Means needed time to find its audience. Sunday evenings was not the right place for it.

The trajectory could have been worse but that won't be enough to save it IMO.

No you did not say that but you have been posting subtle criticism about last nights BBC schedule this morning because you dont seem to be able to accept that ITV were well beaten last night.

Strangely, the modern world of television executives is an enigmatic place! The Express today are reporting that Mr. Selfridge has been recommissioned for a third series, even though they don't yet know if the series will sustain its support during the current run, so they could surprise us all and declare "the hit ITV entertainment show, Splash! will return for a third series", although, like yourself, I think it's unlikely.

The recommission of Mr. Selfridge incidentally, suggests that ITV are more interested in international sales rather than its British audience. But I suppose that with the proceeds from the sale of the show will go into making new programming. Hopefully.

I don't understand why some don't like the Battles I find them the most interesting epecially with the Steal element.

So true but to be fair when they try new formats they fail miserably. BBC shouldn't be about ratings. LE formats should be launched and then assisted. The commercial stations should be looking to them to adapt such as Strictly. Ftr I liked The Puppet show and I love my country.
