Bringing Kylie into the show was a masterstroke decision and the lightened tone is helping this series too.”

If only they could inject a little pace and excitement into the show they might be onto a real winner.

Could even end up being a series high, as the early evening inheritence for it will be much higher than usual and buzz has been good for it throughout the week.”

Aw bless!

Ho, ho, he visits council estates in the North at 7.30 on Mondays and Wednesdays to hear the Coronation St theme playing to confirm that the show is very much a DE Northern show, as he often points out. Also he visits Reigate to listen out for BBC Four announcements to prove ABs watch BBC Four than ITV.

Ah, bless. Stan and Doris were humouring Samuel in the way we do.

I bet the moment he left, they went straight to Splash! Lol.

By the way, I wasnt peering through my neighbours' windows, thats a bit creepy. I was actually watching the rugby at theirs as we usually do because theyre massive 6Nations fans and they were saying theyd be watching the Voice [after me persuading them!].”

The Voice has seen around a million-1.5m increase despite it's opposition dropping by 3m and being on when more people are watching television. While it's performing more than adequately it could and arguably should be rating better than it currently is.

I think both Splash and The Voice will go up tonight. Splash because it had 15-20 minutes against the news and The Voice due to the later start.

Nothing to do with ratings of course but I'm slightly amused that Sweden's Eurovision national final is trending in the UK and The Voice isn't!

Thinking about it, I reckon The Voice should look at doing a BGT and stripping the battles and knockouts live over a shorter period. The auditions clearly have an ongoing strength-if the previously weaker elements were over a week or a fortnight it might just prevent some loss of momentum.

And to think people just think he makes this stuff up as goes along.

Melfest always trends in the UK, even the Albanian National Final was the top trend in the UK when it aired Xmas time.

Really? Even I couldn't be bothered with the Albanian NF and I'm a Eurovision fan!

Love the reaction to the Stan and Doris comment by Samuel. Whatever people think of Samuel, he has created a character on this thread which is impossible to ignore- whether you agree or are infuriated.

You do know that there's a huge Eurovision interest in the UK outside of the BBC don't you? They follow all the countries entries and some have even picked this years winner based on the songs already heard! Sweden's Melfest is closely monitored in the UK because their entries are usually good!

Samuel never infuriates me. Without him this thread would be less entertaining.

Almost impossible for the BBC to schedule though particularly in Q1 and I can't imagine stripping The Voice across one week (let alone two) would be especially well received by the press. Justifiably so as well I'd suggest.

I think they could probably get away with doing shows Friday, Saturday and Sunday though particularly as the best they can currently do on Friday is New Tricks repeats. Of course how they'd fit it onto the current Sunday night line-up is anyone's guess.

3 90 minute Battle Rounds Friday-Sunday and then 3 90 minute Knockout Rounds the following Friday-Sunday could work though. Depends on how that falls in the schedule though I suppose what with sport and Sports Relief on the horizon on Friday nights and the BAFTAs coming up on a Sunday night soon. Although the Sunday show would probably have to be an hour both weeks no way they can get 90 minutes on that schedule now.

I find some of what he says amusing and he adds life to this board. Yes some of it will annoy the overly serious on here, particularly ITVistas, but most of us regard it as amusing.

Of course I do! I was just pretty surprised to see it trending.

I love how the 'ITVistas' have become a group who have to be annoyed every day. Bias on here? What bias?

They hire out mini-buses and go on long weekends to Weatherfield. They even buy an ice cream and eat cockles out of bags of ready salted crisps.
