I can imagine Reflex flopping terribly - it may well get off to a decent start but the format is such that figures will inevitably nosedive. In my opinion, Shane Richie looks uncomfortable as a host and the show doesn't seem to know whether it wants to be slapstick (aided by Ken Bruce's awful voiceovers) or a series defined by serious physical and mental challenges. At least with Total Wipeout, it knew not to take itself seriously at all. The other irony of the format is that it celebrates quick reflexes but presents them in painfully boring slow motion. Bizarre.

One series. Then the axe. A foregone conclusion.

I imagine Shane Ritchie thinks Relfex is the centrepiece for the BBC's Saturday's in Januaty - he's the main event.

Well done good average, but lower than the XF debut.

The move to January worked, then. Great average.

It rated 1.4million viewers better than XF's series 3 launch.

Never seen The Voice before, watched last night and enjoyed it but it would be a bit flat without Kylie.
It is the Kylie show now.

Haha, no chance of BBC cancelling the Voice. It is going to completely transform their Saturday nights from January to March. Itv wont be able to hold up against it!

I admit TVUK was definatly better than last year, however the hypocracy in this thread in unreal. When XF on some come on here slating it as viewers are bored with singing shows, praising Strictly like there's no tomorrow, then The Voice turns up and they're all falling over themselves trying to praise it.
Bit of a generalisation and as you know there is plenty of hypocrisy on both sides of the argument.

Still think most people miss the point that the last two years when the Voice has got to battle round stage that we had the lighter nights and the warmer weather and by then most folk were coming out of the winter hibernation and therefore lost interest. If they have a good start then no reason to think the battle rounds won't be as good.

My thoughts for the voice are 7.9 million - I think many who tried it won't come back even with Kylie/Ricky and new presenters. So knocking on 8 million is about where it's at. That said, most watched iPlayer prog this morning and so maybe there's been a bit of a buzz about it.

Why did you feel the need to write your first post as a negative, antagonistic slagging off? Why not wait until you read posts first, and then reply to them accordingly?

Splash only got 3.4million viewers !

It completely bombed. This is a fantastic weekend for the BBC. The Voice launched huge, New years Live topped 2013 and now they've killed off Splash

Great start for The Voice. We all know the blind auditions rate well though so I think the real test is how well it holds up.

Very impressive average for The Voice, slightly higher than I expected, but that peak is huge! Where did that come from and why was it so much higher than the average?

Yes i realise that, but usually when the XF on this thread is filled with critism far more than when The Voice is on, but that's a given since the BBC fans here far outnumber ITV.

As predicted, Splash was knocked heavily, but i feared it may have gone below 3million so not all bad. About the same as what some programmes get on BBC1 opposite XF.

Not bad for Splash!? That is terrible for a fairly expensive live entertainment show. If you think that's not bad, by all means Itv should continue airing it against the Voice all series .
