Some on here think that simply because one of the tasks is to eat bugs as a task for food, its a waste of space on TV - over 14m watched the 1st episode for peak sake, the audience speaks volumes.
The Fireworks are not set up by the BBC though?, only the cameras to film it so not as much effort as IAC.
I know you don't like it, but a lot of viewers clearly do, hence it domination over TV in November.”
BiB is not actually true. A lot of the technical staff are Australian, and the technical infrastructure and facilities are provided by the Seven Network. Much less than 100 staff (mainly production) are flown out to Oz.
One thing that should be remembered is that most of the set is there all year round. They only have to put the lighting up, set up the cameras and scanners, make props and make the set look tidy. Hardly building the treehouse, bridges, camera wall and camp from scratch.

I was just thinking that myself. The first time they've had live Darts in the afternoon. If anyone has the ratings for the afternoon darts sessions, and could post them, it would be much appreciated.
As for The Taste, what a poor start. Good to see that is was stable, but it will face trickier competition in the coming weeks. A small reminder that ITV have 4 big Champions League games in February/March, and all I imagine will do pretty well.
Man City v Barcelona.
Olympiacos v Man Utd.
Bayern Munich v Arsenal. (Probably will be the highest rating of the 4)
Chelsea v Galatasaray.
All should attract a solid 4m, if not higher. That may slightly dent The Taste, especially if one of the latter two goes into extra time. If The Taste runs without break for its' 10 episodes, the final will clash with Bayern Munich v Arsenal.
