That's decent for
Father Brown, improving on its lead-in,
Doctors, which had 1.59m (20.3%). Here are the overnights for the first eight days of the 2013 run, taken from the thread:
Code:
Mon 14/1 - 2.08m (24.8%)
Tue 15/1 - 1.47m (19.4%)
Wed 16/1 - 1.67m
Thu 17/1 - 1.77m (22.3%)
Fri 18/1 - 2.25m (20.1%)
--------
Mon 21/1 - 2.10m (20.9%)
Tue 22/1 - 1.81m (21.6%)
Wed 23/1 - 1.63m (18.7%)
There was snow around during at least some of this period. Yesterday's share is in the same ball-park as the last series.

Yes,
Pointless returned on Monday to 4.12m vs
The Chase (2.99m exc +1 and not tape-checked). Yesterday it was 3.96m for Pointless v 3.19m (20.6%) inc +1 and tape-checked for
The Chase.
It's new episodes for both now so it will be interesting to see how quickly civilian
Chase recovers, after breaking for five weeks of
O'Grady, a brief repeat run and then Christmas.

Holby /
River City overnight ratings:
Code:
17/12/13 - 4.31m / (19.8%) = 21.8m total TV audience
24/12/13 - 4.55m / (19.6%) = 23.2m total TV audience
31/12/13 - 3.75m / (18.5%) = 20.3m total TV audience
07/01/14 - 5.16m / (21.8%) = 23.7m total TV audience
That's a substantial rise, which couldn't be even mostly explained by any likely change in the normal ~400k audience for
River City. qwerty21 may have explained it, regarding the big storyline and promotion.
