That was a bit disappointing. Stylistically good still. But disappointing.
Sherlock opts for the Poirot option (his last story) - shoot dead the person who you consider to be a nasty piece of work.

I still don't like she who must not be named. I will have to try and tolerate her. I just think she should be kept more in the background.

I missed him. Proper criminal mastermind. This new one who was billed as supreme evil was supreme shite.
Get Moriarty back. Get proper crimes to solve back. Stop the 'ooh we've written a hit' love in. Put Mary in the background. Stop trying to be funny (Cumberbatch and Freeman worked with their lines in S1&2 to make them subtly humorous, no need for the OTT scenes). Stop arsing about with flashbacks and non linear plots. Stop having about 12 things going on at once. Stop planting spoilers and thinking that that makes up for shite episodes because "all will become clear". Start writing a better series 4.

I was deafened by the rasping of the bottom of the barrel being scraped. Do these writers have any integrity at all?

Series One was fascinating. Series Two was a little plodding and ultimately unsatisfying. Series Three has been complete drivel.
Having self congratulatingly killed off Holmes and then brought him back to life again, episode one rips off the plot from 'V from Vendetta' complete the same police detective. Episode two manages to get through 90 minutes without any real detective work, and then this soporific nonsense.
The trouble with Sherlock is that it thinks it's clever and spends every waking moment telling you it is, including when it isn't on. Do you remember when Sherlock Holmes actually solved crimes rather then being the cause of them?
And then the most obvious plot twist right at the end, because they have nowhere else to go.
I cannot wait for Elementary to come back. Cleverness hidden in plain site, plots that rattle along, thoughtful story arcs. And detective work.
