I'm not quite sure what I watched. So, basically, Moriarty is 'definitely' dead then.

Well, if nothing else, that episode was awfully pleased with itself.

Since when was Sherlock a drug addict?

Can I just get a Sherlock that has a mystery without all the typical Moffat nonsense, the first 2 series of the show I really enjoyed, but since the start of series 3 the episodes have been filled with such rubbish and self indulgence that it's really putting me off the show.

It's getting to the point where i'm starting to despise the Sherlock character TBH

Was really looking forward to it too with it being set in the Victorian times too :/

It's ACD canon.

Sherlock as a series died for me tonight. A right load. Happy for those who enjoyed it.

I know that but was it established in the show's canon?

It was an entertaining hour, but at the end of it I'm not sure what the point of it was.

I'm afraid Moffat has gone down the same avenue he took Dr Who down a series or two ago ... lots of smoke and mirrors, witty dialogue, covering up overly complex plots, that don't provide much in the ways of answers.

Call me old fashioned but I'd like a simpler plot with a beginning, middle, and most importantly, rounded ending next time.

A complete mess for me....it's becoming a bit of a standard procedure with Moff now to supplant story with just random bits of clever.

That was basically an hour and a half wasted on telling us that Moriarty really was dead...but it serves the purpose of making us forget that Holmes was only brought back from his 5 minute exile to confront Moriarty. It would be too much to expect they'll bung him back into exile.

Dreadful show..,and to think how magnificent that first ever episode was.

I've loved Sherlock until now, but Moffat really shit the bed with that episode.
